Dual Covenant |
Dear people, Can you tell me why we should believe clear
contextual reference to an immediate time frame addressing
the Israelites in Matthew (especially 23-24) should relate to
us? How can a nonexistent race of people be the heirs to
the promise fulfilled in the church? Please read Galatians 3.
There you will see that the heirs to the promise of Abraham
are the children of Christ, not just Jews!
Also, how does God maintain a dual covenant? To adhere to
dispensationalist thought, one must adhere to a dual covenant.
Never has one solid biblical answer surfaced for this
question!
Another point, for someone so caught up on biblical prophecy,
people do not appear to understand biblical language to well
(riding on clouds). If you interpret everything literally,
then resting under the wings of shadow means God is
a big chicken!

The pre-tribulation rapture position does not.
The Tribulation is for Israel and the inhabitants of the earth (Jer.
30:4-7; Mt. 24-25; Rom. 11:25ff.; Rev. 3:10; 6:10; 8:13; 11:10;
12:12-13; 13:8, 12, 14; 14:6; 17:8). It is the time of "Jacob's
trouble" (Jer. 30:7), "concerning Israel and concerning Judah" (Jer.
30:4), and Jacob shall be saved out of it (Jer. 30:7), in keeping with
God's gifts and promises to Israel, which are without repentance (Rom.
11:29; Jer. 3:17-18; 31:31-37; 32:37-41; 33:24-26; Ez. 34:22;
34:22-32; 37:21-28; 35:25-29; ).
This will occur after the fullness of the Gentiles (church age) has
come in (past tense), according to Romans 11:25, and then "all Israel
[and this is not a reference to people who are being saved during the
time of the fullness of the Gentiles, 1) because the entire chapter of
Romans 11 clearly shows a distinction between the fullness of Israel
and the fullness of the Gentiles, 2) because this "Israel" is said to
be a blind enemy of the gospel during this time of the fullness of the
Gentiles, and 3) because this "Israel" is the one to whom God gave
gifts and a calling which are "without repentance".] shall be saved"
(Isa. 11:11-16; 45:17; 54:6-10; Jer 3:17-23; 30:17-22' 31:31-37; Jer
32:37-41; 33:24-26; Eze. 34:22-31; 37:21-28; 39:25-29; Eze.
40:1-48:35; Ho. 3:5; Joel 3:16-21; Am/ 9:14,15; Mic. 7:15-20; Zep.
3:12-20; Zec. 10:6-12; Rom. 11:26; Rev. 7:4), when the deliverer comes
out of Zion (Rom. 11:26; Ps. 14:7; Isa. 59:20).
The 144,000 sealed from "all the tribes of the children of Israel"
(Rev. 7:4), are the "election" (Mt. 24:22, 24, 31; Rom. 11:28), which
shall be gathered from the four quarters of the earth (Isa. 11:12; Mt.
24:31), and saved at the end of the Tribulation, when Christ returns
to earth with His wife, the church (Isa. 50:1; Jer. 3:8; 2 Cor. 11:2;
Eph. 5:31-32; Rev. 19:7-8, 14), to the marriage supper of the Lamb on
earth (Rev. 19:7, 9).
And how, Dave, was Israel/Jacob, saved out of the events which
occurred in A.D. 70???
How can a nonexistent race of people be the heirs to
the promise fulfilled in the church? Please read Galatians 3.
There you will see that the heirs to the promise of Abraham
are the children of Christ, not just Jews!
What non-existent race are you referring to?
1Co 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the
Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Also, how does God maintain a dual covenant? To adhere to
dispensationalist thought, one must adhere to a dual covenant.
Never has one solid biblical answer surfaced for this
question!
Why do the gates of New Jerusalem have the inscription of the twelve
tribes of Israel on them, while the foundation walls have the names of
the twelve apostles (Rev. 21:14)? Why are there 24 elders and not
twelve (Rev. 4:4,10; 5:8,14; 11:16; 19:4)? Why does Romans 11:25ff.
teach that the Israel which is a blinded enemy of the gospel until the
fullness of the Gentiles "has come in" (past tense), shall be saved
(future tense), in keeping with God's gifts and promises, which are
"without repentance"?
The answer, Dave, is because "the gifts and calling of God are without
repentance" (Rom. 11:29). That there are two branches on God's tree
of faith doesn't do away with either of the branches, or the unified
tree.
Another point, for someone so caught up on biblical prophecy,
people do not appear to understand biblical language to well
(riding on clouds). If you interpret everything literally,
then resting under the wings of shadow means God is
a big chicken!
Dave, I'm sorry, but if the only thing you have to hang onto to
support your contention that we should throw the book of Revelation to
the winds of spiritual oblivion, is some reference to God riding on a
cloud in Isaiah, and your contention that if that reference was only
figurative, then so must every future reference be, then I feel sorry
for you.
Christ didn't spiritually ascend up into the clouds when He ascended,
and He will come in like manner as He departed:
Acts 1
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was
taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up,
behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into
heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall
so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
