End of an era for Bro. Steve Winter |
I remember when I thought computer bulletin boards were the
ultimate thing. Now there still are some, but mostly it is
history. Then came USENET etc and that was a practical scenario
and reasonable platform for a while.
Today's USENET, however, is polluted by the vilest of anon trash
and the scum of the earth, especially the religious groups to
make it no longer a practical platform. It has become so trashed
by Satanic filth like so many that I won't bother to name. Rest
assured that there will be many out here that I will continue to
pray for the Lord to reward them according to their works.
I also feel that I have been violating Matt 7:6 out here and what
for? I really don't think that there are that many people still
reading USENET. USENET has become a stinking sewer.
With several other Brethren, I have started a message board at
www.TheTruthOfTheBible.com where we can keep the trash and the
devils out. I invite any real honest hearts to check it out.
To the rest, I shake the dust off my feet against you.
I plan to cancel my USENET after publishing this post.
I ask any decent readers out here to spread the word about
www.TheTruthOfTheBible.com

if he secretly checks in on Usenet from time to time. I also feel that at
some point he will probably reappear on Usenet once again full of sound and
fury preaching his heretical version of fire and brimstone. I the meantime I
am enjoying his absence although "Rev. BR Collins" seems to be his
unintentional replacement.

configured
correctly. Visitors are able to enter your site without your permission
and
read your posts. You can change this by adding the - sign to the left of
your ExecCGI statement in the options section of http.conf and change
the path statement of the file so that CGI is not executable in script
alias
directories, reconfigure your script alias directories so that only
passworded
users have access to them.
After you've done all that, open your access log and search for the ip
addy's
64.12.0.0 thru 64.12.255.255
The address below is an AOL proxy server named
cache-mtc-ad04.proxy.aol.com.
The AOL admins are required to keep access logs on their servers for 30
days,
and if you talk nicely and explain why he may email you a copy of that
log. Assuming
that he gives you a copy, compare the time, date, and port used to access
your server
by 64.12.116.198, to a time and date with your server address in the
outgoing
columb. On that same line look to the incoming columb and you will see Cub
Braves
ip addy. From here I think you can figure out what to do next....
Here is his entire header below. For those not knowing how, the path
statement
is read from right to left, the NNTP Posting Host is the machine that
connected
to, in this case Google, and the actual machine that Cub posts from cannot
be seen
in the header info as he is behind an AOL proxie server.

I remember when I thought computer bulletin boards were the

it's themes are essentially the same as his favourite rants on Usenet. The
difference is he can now limit disagreement whereas he was previously at the
mercy of his adversary. He'll eventually be back. I suspect he may check
in from time to time to see if he's remembered and how. At the moment, he
enjoys the company of those who uphold his opinions on Scripture and enjoys
bouncing those who don't. It's interesting that he was the first to violate
the rules of Netiquette and he is the SysOp as well.
