BEARING WITNESS TO THE TRUTH
Eternal life promised by trust
To Read: Acts 19-21
To Know:
"And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, 'John baptized with
water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' If then God gave the
same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus
Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?" (Acts 11:16,17)
The witness of the Jehovah's Witnesses is that Jesus is not God. Those who
preach that Jesus is not God attack the Bible. Peter defends his visit to
the home of a Gentile soldier by testifying that God himself went with him
into Cornelius' home. The fact is that God's personal presence was made
known by an outpouring of the Holy Spirit made manifest by speaking in an
unknown tongue. John the Baptist prophesied that Jesus would baptize with
the Holy Spirit. The clear implication of Peter's words is that Jesus Christ
is God.
We live in a dangerous day. Personal opinion trumps truth in the minds of
many. Many consider the claim to know the truth manifests narrow-mindedness.
We discard the truth to our eternal peril. The Bible is virtually filled
with teaching that Jesus Christ is God in human form. To believe that Jesus
is the Christ, the Son of God, is our salvation. John in his first letter
wrote, "He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not
life." (1 Jn. 5:12)
To Do:
We all live under cultural pressure to reject the claim of Christ to be God
in the flesh. The story line of the Bible tells of the journey of the
creator from glory to a cradle in a stable. He is back in glory as an
eternal man. Humans now hang in the balance. Those who trust in the name of
Jesus Christ are promised to share his eternal life.
To Ask:
Father, I believe that you, Jesus, are indeed God.

And remember these words,
"...try the spirits whether they are of God....Hereby know ye the Spirit of
God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is
of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh
is not of God...Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God
dwelleth in him, and he in God." (1John 4:1-3,15)
I pray that we all come together in Christ. There are too many
disagreements between Christians. Sometimes it seems we have nothing in
common. Let's make Jesus Christ the focus of our attention. He is our
salvation. Let's not over analyze the scriptures but instead let us be
obedient to the simple message of the gospel.
"...the world by wisdom knew not God." (1 Corinthians 1:21) For truly we
need to become like children and have a tender heart and become submissive
to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
All honor, power and glory belongs to He who is Faithful and True. The only
shepard of the sheep. Let us always praise His holy name!
