EU moves to independent military role

BRUSSELS, Dec. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- As the world's largest regional
bloc, the European Union (EU) has scored significant achievements in
2004 in building up its independent military capability, a process at
the expense of US influence in the transatlantic military alliance.
The EU's decade-long drive to develop its military muscle to back
up its diplomatic weight took visible form as 7,000 peacekeepers in
Bosnia and Herzegovina replaced their NATO shoulder tags with the EU's
blue and gold colors.
The mission, which started on Dec. 2, marks the 25-nation bloc's
largest and most complex operation to date. Now, the EU's military
aspirations stretch much further as it seeks to erase its enduring
image as an economic giant and a military midget.
The military operation is seen as a crucial test of the military
capabilities of EU nations, as well as their ability to act in unison,
as the EU seeks to develop its own coherent military force independent
of NATO.
If successful, it could pave the way for other such missions
inareas where NATO has long borne the brunt of responsibility for
collective security on the continent, for example in neighboring
Kosovo.
Senior Western officials in Brussels said the deployment is
essential to ensure that Bosnia remains peaceful as NATO turns over
responsibilities nine years after it first deployed troops to help end
the country's civil war.
The Bosnia mission followed two similar EU peacekeeping operations
last year: in Macedonia, where some 1,000 EU troops were involved, and
a short-term operation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which
involved more than 1,500 EU troops.
Meanwhile, in August, the EU's five-nation Eurocorps, which is
made up of troops from Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and Luxembourg,
took over from Canada as the lead contingent in the NATO-led
International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
Eurocorps, whose headquarters is based in Strasbourg, France, is
to be the lead contingent in Afghanistan for a period of six months.
EU plans are under way to set up 13 battle groups, which are
military units that can be deployed rapidly to deal with crisis around
the world, by 2007, each with 1,500 troops. Also in the pipeline is a
60,000-strong rapid reaction force for bigger peacekeeping operations.
"The battle groups are at the forefront of capability improvement,
providing the EU with credible, rapidly deployable, coherent force
packages capable of stand-alone operations, for theinitial phase of
larger operations," said an EU statement.
Besides, the EU announced in September that it will set up a
gendarmerie force which will be operational in 2005.
The force, to be headquartered in Italy, will be made up of 900
military policemen from France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the
Netherlands, and be financed by the contributing countries.
Although the EU has done a lot in enhancing its independent
military role and capabilities, EU leaders have come to realize that
Europe has lagged far behind the United States in armaments,
intervention capabilities and abilities to cope with crisis.
A hard fact is that by their command system they can in no way
meet the demand for a long-term endeavor of intervention or fighting
over a long period of war. Though the EU has a force of over 2 million
troops, merely 2 to 3 percent of them can be employed to undertake a
peacekeeping task as in Kosovo.
Observers say that as things now stand in the EU countries, there
is still a long way to go for the bloc to build an efficient
independent defense and military intervention system to make the EU a
"genuine tiger."
The EU has longed for a common European military capacity that
would allow it to formulate and pursue a defense policy separate from
that of NATO, which is dominated by the US.
Many European officials believe an autonomous European
militarycapacity is necessary for the union to have a meaningful
foreign policy and give it a stronger voice in world affairs.
Otherwise, they argue, Europe's individual states are too weak to play
a role independent of the US.
The US has opposed such a policy as an unnecessary duplication of
NATO, which already pools European military resources under a single
command and plans to build a new headquarters complex in Brussels in
the next few years.
The controversy over the Iraq war convinced many Europeans --
French people and Germans, in particular -- of the need for a separate
capacity and separate facilities that would allow Europe to pursue its
own agenda without the approval of Washington.
The rifts between the US and Europe cannot be repaired so easily
because they are rooted in the drive to re-divide the world's
strategic resources among the major powers in the aftermath of the
collapse of the former Soviet Union.
By now, Washington has been able to press its predatory ambitions
to the full -- first in Afghanistan and then in Iraq by relying on its
overwhelming military advantage over its European rivals.

We know what the Beast(EU countries whose core is 10 of the main Euro
member states) is and how it is held together so what is this
Prostitute that the Beast destroys?
ZECHARIAH 5:5-11
Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to
me,"Look up and see what this is that is appearing." I asked, "What is
it?" He replied, "It is a measuring basket." And he added, "This is
the iniquity of the people throughout the land." Then the cover of
lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! He said, "This
is wickedness," and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the
lead cover down over its mouth. Then I looked up and there before me
were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had wings like
those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and
earth. "Where are they taking the basket?" I asked the angel who was
speaking to me. He replied, "To the country of Babylonia to build a
house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set there in its
place.''

As we go further into this article the more clearer it will become but
for now the groundwork needs to be done, so in continuing, in the
above verses from the Bible what I wanted to point out is that when
Zechariah was given this vision, Babylonia that he knew was going into
decline. He sees the spirit of this whole sinful system in the form of
this woman in the basket which is then taken to the country of
Babylonia and set there to grow once they had built a house for it. As
it is a -new- house(a new Babylon) that they build for it and not the
old house which was in decline and the fact that the two women lifted
the basket and flew away with it to a different place then I put it
also to you that it was also a new country where this woman would
inhabitate -a new Babylonia.
ISAIAH 13:17-20 See, I will stir up against them the Medes, who do not
care for silver and have no delight in gold. Their bows will strike
down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants nor will they
look with compassion on children. Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the
glory of the Babylonians' pride, will be overthrown by God like Sodom
and Gomorrah. She will never be inhabited or lived in through all
generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest
his flocks there.
Humm!!
Before Babylon was destroyed by the Medes, Isaiah had already
predicted that Babylon would be in that way destroyed many years
before it happened. Isaiah predicted this while Babylon was still a
superpower but notice also once destroyed she would not rise again as
shown by the above verse. So when Zechariah saw his vision in the
declining years of Babylon after the Medes had destroyed her this
Babylon mentioned in revelations definitely is another place
altogether as the old Babylon would never again be inhabited.

Babylonia was the country centered around the city of Babylon which
was one of the greatest cities of the ancient world. As this woman was
carried away to a new Babylonia then the new house of this woman was
given the new name 'Babylon the Great' in Revelation. When John saw
this vision of end time events I doubt very much if he knew where this
city was located or even the country -' MYSTERY'. This city was even
more powerful than the old city of Babylon given the powerful new
title of- 'BABYLON THE GREAT'.
One interesting fact that I wish to point out at this stage is that
although there are many Babylons in the world today none of them match
the size and importants of the Babylon located on Long Island in New
York, this is due to it being a part of the same urban sprawl as the
mighty New York city. As Babylon was a familar name to John he called
it "Babylon the Great" instead of some strange name that made no sense
to him.
The final two lines of the above verse also gives the same location
due to the fact that nuclear weapons would have to be by far the most
destructive abominations that man has ever created and New York city
in the United States began the birthing project under the guise of the
Manhattan Project where engineers from Manhattan New York city plus
from other countries got together to build the nuclear bomb. Much of
the initial work was done at Columbia University in New York and
military direction came from an office in Manhattan and the whole
programme became known as the "Manhattan project"-' THE MOTHER OF
PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH '
REVELATION 17: 1-2 ONE OF THE SEVEN ANGELS WHO HAD THE SEVEN BOWLS

The Great Prostitute seems to refer directly to the Statue of Liberty
which is located in New York city in the USA in that information on
the Statue of Liberty states that the seven spikes on the crown
represents the 7 seas which surrounds all the people of the world. The
USA has military bases in other countries -'SITS ON MANY WATERS' and
also being a superpower the USA has a global influence with its
technology, wealth and culture(both good and bad), on the rest of the
world. Something also that should be pointed out is the kings/leaders
of the earth meet in New York city at the United Nations Headquarters.
REV 17:4
THE WOMAN WAS DRESSED IN PURPLE AND SCARLET, AND WAS GLITTERING WITH
GOLD, PRECIOUS STONES AND PEARLS. SHE HELD A GOLDEN CUP IN HER HAND
FILLED WITH ABOMINABLE THINGS AND THE FILTH OF HER ADULTERIES.

Another reference to the United States of America through the Statue
of Liberty as this woman is dressed in royal clothing denoting
authority and beautified by her wealth and isn't the United States of
America a rich Queen among the nations? The spaces in the crown of the
Statue of Liberty is said to represent every precious gem on the earth
and doesn't the torch in her hand look like a steaming cup?
REVELATION 17:7 Then the angel said to me: "Why are you astonished? I
will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she
rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns.

This woman dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with
gold, precious stones and pearls rides the beast and isn't it true
that the USA, wealthy and powerful, has a major voice in world affairs
and rides not only the E.U. but the rest of the world by the
implementation of her foreign policies.
REV 17:16 THE BEAST AND THE TEN HORNS YOU SAW WILL HATE THE
PROSTITUTE, THEY WILL BRING HER TO RUIN AND LEAVE HER NAKED, THEY WILL

This Beast whose core is formed from the union of the ten kingdoms
will destroy the power of the United States of America breaking the
prostitute's domination in world affairs.
REV 18: 15-18 THE MERCHANTS WHO SOLD THESE THINGS AND GAINED THEIR
WEALTH FROM HER WILL STAND FAR OFF, TERRIFIED AT HER TORMENT. THEY
WILL WEEP AND MOURN AND CRY OUT: "WOE! WOE, O GREAT CITY, DRESSED IN
FINE LINEN, PURPLE AND SCARLET, AND GLITTERING WITH GOLD, PRECIOUS
STONES AND PEARLS! IN ONE HOUR SUCH GREAT WEALTH HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO
RUIN!" EVERY SEA CAPTAIN, AND ALL WHO TRAVEL BY SHIP, THE SAILORS, AND
ALL WHO EARN THEIR LIVING FROM THE SEA, WILL STAND FAR. WHEN THEY SEE
THE SMOKE OF HER BURNING, THEY WILL EXCLAIM, "WAS THERE EVER A CITY
LIKE THIS GREAT CITY?"
Humm!!
It seems that one of the places that will be destroyed is New York
City. New York city would have to be one of the richest cities in the
world, and the USA would have to be one of the wealthiest nations of
the world very similar to the city of Babylon and the nation of
Babylonia in there time. The Statue of Liberty stands as a queen in
New York city with the wealth of the world in the New York Stock
Exchange backing her and the kings/leaders of the earth meeting in
that city in the United Nations Headquarters. Note also that it has to
be a seaport, which New York is and the old Babylon isn't, as the
sailors can see 'the smoke of her burning'. If there is any city in
our time that could have "WAS THERE EVER A CITY LIKE THIS GREAT CITY?"
said about it and also satisfying the other clues given of it in the
Bible then there really is only one and that is New York city.
REV 18:4 THEN I HEARD ANOTHER VOICE FROM HEAVEN SAY: "COME OUT OF HER,
MY PEOPLE, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT SHARE IN HER SINS, SO THAT YOU WILL
NOT RECEIVE ANY OF HER PLAGUES. REV 18:5-8 FOR HER SINS ARE PILED UP
TO HEAVEN, AND GOD HAS REMEMBERED HER CRIMES. GIVE BACK TO HER AS SHE
HAS GIVEN, PAY HER BACK DOUBLE FOR WHAT SHE HAS DONE. MIX HER A DOUBLE
PORTION FROM HER OWN CUP. GIVE HER AS MUCH GRIEF AS THE GLORY AND
LUXURY SHE GAVE HERSELF. IN HER HEART SHE BOAST,"I SIT AS QUEEN; I AM
NOT A WIDOW AND I WILL NEVER MOURN." THEREFORE IN ONE DAY HER PLAGUES
WILL OVERTAKE HER: DEATH MOURNING AND FAMINE. SHE WILL BE CONSUMED BY
FIRE, FOR MIGHTY IS THE LORD WHO JUDGES HER.
Humm!!
Knowing all this God gives a direct warning to get out of that city so
that you don't die within it when the time comes to punish it. As it
only takes an hour to burn it(consumed by fire) and those that see it
stand far away from it(plagues) then it can only be some form of
nuclear weapon being used against it and these plagues that come from
it are probably the radiation fall out from the weapon. As far as when
God's going to allow someone(enemies of the USA are many) to unleash a
nuclear weapon on New York city is hard to determine so the sooner out
the better.
New York city being destroyed is just a taste of the future global
nuclear destruction that will occur. If we continue to read further
down from the above bible verse we find that the later verses state
that God has taken his people to heaven for the union of Christ and
Christians at the wedding feast. The point being that the pulling out
of God's people occurs after the destruction of New York city but
before the global destruction.
REV 16: 10-11 THE FIFTH ANGEL POURED OUT HIS BOWEL ON THE THRONE OF
THE BEAST, AND HIS KINGDOM WAS PLUNGED INTO DARKNESS. MEN GNAWED THEIR
TONGUES IN AGONY AND CURSED THE GOD OF HEAVEN BECAUSE OF THEIR PAINS
AND THEIR SORES, BUT THEY REFUSED TO REPENT OF WHAT THEY HAD DONE.
Humm!!
Everybody knows that nobody wins even in a first strike with nuclear
weapons, everyone will suffer the results of the nuclear fallout and
the sickness from it, but that won't stop the Beast from this
destruction of the earth and as always God gets blame for something
man does as the above verse indicates. So is the destruction of New
York City the trigger for the destruction of the USA? Only time will
provide that answer.
Jeremiah 25:
11-14
This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these
nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. "But when the
seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his
nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt," declares the
LORD, "and will make it desolate forever. I will bring upon that land
all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written in this
book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations. They
themselves will be enslaved by many nations and great kings; I will
repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands."
Humm!!
As to when this destruction is coming to New York city the best clues
comes from the above bible verses from Jeremiah. These verses are
about the future Babylon because if you read futher down from the
above verses in the bible you will find that the guilty of whole world
are slain i.e the Lord will allow the wicked to destroy themselves.
Also the verses on 'Babylon the Great' in Revelation are very similar
to those found in certain verses in Jeremiah which indicates that he
also deals with a future Babylon, this 'Babylon the Great' in
Revelation.
From the above verses in Jeremiah we are told that these nations will
serve Babylon for seventy years and the question then arrises when did
the nations(United Nations) first come together in New York ? In the
below article it gives the date that the nations first met together at
Lake Success in New York which is also a part of the same urban sprawl
as New York city(like Babylon) and that was on the 28 August 1946.
Seventy years after would bring the destruction of New York city to
around about the 28th of August 2016.
