Amazingly, it took a Muslim writer, writing in a newspaper in a Muslim
country to see what should have been obvious to Europe's globalist
elite, and to say what has been barely mentioned by the
'politically-correct' and largely secular Western media:

"Many would accuse French and Dutch voters of espousing politically
incorrect rhetoric. Yet if we are committed to the triumph of
democracy, we must recognise that electorates have the right to
preserve the character of their countries the way they perceive it.
Indeed, the custodians of politically correct liberalism who all too
often blame Western loss of religious sentiment for the West's
failure to understand the important role that Islam plays in the daily
life of the Muslim world, should have welcomed the proposed (and
eventually abandoned) mention of the Union's shared Christian
heritage in the preamble to the constitution.
