Fundamentalist Churches AND KJV Onlyism |
Recently I was denied membership at a extremely legalistic Fundamentalist
Church (in Santa Clara, CA). The Church was KJVO to the extreme, and forbid
their members and staff to watch movies, TV, dance, listen to music, play
video games,etc..
However I found another Fundamentalist Church where I am a better fit. This
church is not KJVO, but we preach from the KJV. The church likes John
MacArthur, while the other Fundamentalist Church could not stand MacArthur,
nor did they associate with him. My current pastor goes to the Shepherds
Conference everyyear. The pastor boldl;y preaches and teaches the gospel,
but the difference between this church and the KJVO church, was that they
would not deny someone a membership because they were Baptized in the CM&A.
I was Baptized in the CM&A in 1991, and this was enough for the KJVO church
to deny me membership, or require a second Baptism.
The Fundamentalist church and churches that I was associated with in
Northern California (Redding-Redbluff, CA) were not KJVO and did accept my
membership.
Do any of you attend a Fundamentalist Church and if so are they KJVO, KJV
Preferred, or do they use multiple translations?
My web Ministry is Fundamentalist, but I am not KJVO.
CERM primarily uses the King James Version, the New King James, the New
American Standard Version, and the New International Version for the writing
of our articles. CERM does not agree with the King James Only Fundamentalist
movement. There are no perfect bible translations. Only the originals are
perfect. All translations have strengths and weaknesses.** (See Footnote at
Bottom of Page).
Thanks,
John

In my walk with Faith I discovered each individual Christian is in deed
"THE CHURCH".
What you are discribing it a Fundamentalist congregation not a Church.

KJVO is most disturbing for us Christians of the Way.

No one likes my views of what I discovered on the "RAPTUER".

Ill considered question, since fundamentalist churches are sola
scriptura, we fundamentalists know no Biblical reference to, nor prohibition
of things you say they "forbid" above.
Therefore your question above is propagating deceptions and lies.
Churches making those kind of rules are NOT SOLA SCRIPTURA and therefore not
Fundamentalist.

of things you say they "forbid" above.
It was John Wolf who stated that the "extremely legalistic
Fundamentalist Church" forbade these things.
Fundamentalism teaches a literal interpretation of the Bible. Many
Fundamentalists claim to believe in Sola Scriptura but then add many
man-made rules to their religious beliefs. However many
Fundamentalists do NOT believe in Sola Scriptura. Most
Fundamentalists also believe in Dispensational Eschatology (a type of
Dispensationalism which validates the Role that the Jews will play as
God's People in the End Times while ignoring the Bible's condemnation
of non-Jewish practices within Christianity).
Therefore your question above is propagating deceptions and lies.
Churches making those kind of rules are NOT SOLA SCRIPTURA and therefore not
Fundamentalist.
By the way, if one accepts Fundamentalist belief that the entire Bible
is true and to be interpreted literally, then Sols Scriptura is
forbidden in Deuteronomy and Matthew both of which command obedience
to the Oral Law (now writen down as the Mishna).
Frank, it was the self proclaimed "Fundamentalists" who forbade
watching movies, TV, dancing, listening to music, playing video games,
et cetera. Since many Fundamentalist congregations believe that these
activities expose the person to temptation, they DO forbid their
members from engaging in these activities. Fundamentalism in
Christianity is not a monolithic belief system. The use of different
translations, various opinions as to the importance of the context of
verses, and the acceptance that some verses must be exceptions to the
dogma of literal interpretation allow for differences of opinion about
the core of Fundamentalism. Further disagreements about the actions
to be taken in people's lives adds further diversity. And of course
most Fundamentalists follow some form of Dispensationalism, otherwise
they would have to stop doing Christmas, Easter and Communion, observe
the diatary laws, observe the Biblical Holy Days, reschedule their
services to Saturday (Sabbath) since the use of Sunday is
extra-biblical and so forth.

What do you mean by "legalistic"?
Many people use the word but no one seems to agree on exactly what
this word means. It is usualy used to illicit a negative emotional
responce without conveying a clear intellectual understanding of the
accusation.
Do you mean that this church followed the Pagan (Greek) theology of
salvation based on obediance to a code of law?
Do you mean the Catholic theology of intolerance that led to the
inquisitions, the crusades and the holocaust?
Do you mean the Muslim theology of militant intolerance that inspires
the Jihad?
These could be refered to as "Legalism."
I do not understand how a group could be "Fundamentalist" and forbid
dance since the Bible relates many incidents where the Followers of
God danced to worship God. True Fundamentalism would oppose
Trinitarianism and the celebration of Christmas and Easter; so, most
"trinitarians" are hypocrites.
Also Paul did instruct us to have outside interests so that we could
have interesting conversations with people who were not yet believers.
These interests could include watching movies or TV, dancing,
listening to music, playing video games, or many other things.
I will grant you that the King Jimmy Translation (KJV or KJT) is the
worst English thranslation ever written, containing Thousands more
errors than any other English translation. However, even the KJT does
not support a monastic lifestyle.
As for you being denied membership, churches are pretty liberal about
the people to whom they extend membership. Only troublemakers are
excluded
If they were "a extremely legalistic Fundamentalist Church" and forbade

people writing study materials and no actual curriculum but still
defrauds Christians of money? Who cares what some Atheist at CERM

No he means the brutality Judaists inflict upon Muslim Semites
surrounding Israel. See below the "abomination of desolation" at work.
Pastor Frank
The below atrocities were committed shortly after the God of the Jews,
YHVH, gave Moses the 10 commandments, forbidding Jews to covet their
neighbour's property and kill them to get a hold of it.
We know through Christ, that our glorious Father which is in heaven
never commands anyone to kill, but rather to love and convert the
unconverted. Yet Jews and some Christians want us to believe, that YHVH,
though "the same yesterday, today and tomorrow" gave dispensation to
Jews to commit the sins of both coveting and fratricide. Jews were to kill
their Semitic brothers, sisters and their children and life-stock, in fact
they were to "kill all that breatheth" in the entire country, in order for
them to "occupy the land" and "reap where you have not sown". The
result was the horrific obscenity below, a genocidal holocaust of gigantic
proportions.
--------
Deuteronomy 20:16-17 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord
thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing
that breatheth. But thou shalt utterly destroy them; the Hittites, and the
Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites
as the Lord thy God has commanded thee."
Ezekiel 32:5 "I will strew your flesh upon the mountains, and fill the
valleys with your carcass. I will drench the land even to the mountains with
your flowing blood..."
Ezekiel 9:5 "Pass through the city after him, and smite; your eye shall
not spare and you shall show no pity; slay old men outright, young men and
maidens, little children and women...'"
Deut. 7:1 (KJV)When Yahweh your god has settled you in the land you're
about to occupy, and driven out many infidels before you...you're to cut
them down and exterminate them. You're to make no compromise with
them nor show them any mercy.
Joshua 10:40 - BBE So Joshua struck all the land, the hill-country, and
the South, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings: he left
none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as YHVH, the
God of Israel, commanded."
1 Samuel 15:3 - BBE Now go and strike Amalek, and utterly destroy all
that they have, and don't spare them; but kill both man and woman, infant
and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."
Isaiah 13:16 - BBE Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before
their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped."
Hosea 13:16 - BBE Samaria will bear her guilt; For she has rebelled
against her God. They will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed
in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open."
Psalms 137:9 - Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little
ones against the stones.
Moses in Numbers 31:17-18 Now therefore kill every male among the
little ones, and kill every woman, that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the female children, that have not known man by lying with him,
keep alive for yourself.

the Jihad?
No he means the brutality Judaists inflict upon Muslim Semites
surrounding Israel. See below the "abomination of desolation" at work.
Frank, you are a liar.
You know that Israel is the only peacful nation in the Middle East.
You know that Israel is the only nation in the Middle East with
freedom of religion. You know that there is no such word as
"judaists." And you know (if you ever read the Bible) that the
Abomination of Desolation is turning away from the 613 Commandments -
the Commandments that you have denounced in many of your posts. You
also know (if you ever read the Bible) that the Abomination of
Desolation attacks Israel which you do in many of your posts. You
also know that you are taking many of the verses below out of context
and lying about them.
Frank, if you are a Christian, you must believe that the entire Bible
is true and you must believe certain facts from the Bible.
Frank, do you believe:
That Jesus is YHVH?
That all of the Old Testament is true?
That YHVH is a real person (supernatural in nature, but with real
feelings, opinions, and who takes actions) instead of just being
'love"?
Do you believe all of what Jesus said in the Gospels?
Do you believe that Jesus is YHVH?
Do you believe that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews alone?
Do you believe that all the Jews will be saved, as it says in Romans
11?
Do you believe Jesus when he said that all of His followers must obey
the 613 Commandments found in the Old Testament (the Torah)(Matthew
5:17-19)?
Do you believe Jesus when he promised to sent angels to destroy about
half of Christianity for disobeying the Commandments (Matthew 13)?
Do you believe Jesus when he said that those who call upon him name
for salvation but who reject the Law will not be saved?
Modern Judaism teaches that the Law is just for the Jews and must be
done voluntarily. Jesus said that all of His followers are to obey
all the Commandments. Which do you believe, the Modern Judaism or
Jesus?
We wait for an answer, Frank.
Of course you have been dodging these questions for months.
Is it because you are an Atheist? I suspect that you are an Atheist
who only pretends to be a christian to make Christianity look foolish.
Pastor Frank
The below atrocities were committed shortly after the God of the Jews,
YHWH, gave Moses the 10 commandments, forbidding Jews to covet their
neighbour's property and kill them to get a hold of it.
Yes, He made this Commandment to Jew and Gentile alike. The Jews did
not seek to take land from other people, God (Jesus commanded them to
punish the idolaters who had committed evil actions in His land that
He had already given to the Jews. Yet you covet the Land of Israel to
establish new terrorist bases for the Jihad. The people that you
support murder woman and children and you support their evil with
glee.
We know through Christ, that our glorious Father which is in heaven
never commands anyone to kill, but rather to love and convert the
unconverted.
Frank, if you bothered reading the Gospels, you would know that
Jesus/YHVH commanded His followers to obey all the Commandments of the
Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). If you
bother reading these, you learn that Jesus commanded the killing of
certain criminals. If you reading the Old Testament, you learn that
Jesus/YHVH commanded the killing of many pagans when He delivered the
Land of Israel to the Children of Israel.
Yet Jews and some Christians want us to believe, that YHVH,
though "the same yesterday, today and tomorrow" gave dispensation to
Jews to commit the sins of both coveting and fratricide.
No, God gave the land to Israel centuries earlier and the people who
were living in Israel were stealing that land from the People of
Israel. Moreover, those thieving pagans committed the worst forms of
idolatry including incenerating their first born children, and cross
breeding their daughters with nifelim (demons).
Jews were to kill
their Semitic brothers, sisters and their children and life-stock, in fact
they were to "kill all that breatheth" in the entire country, in order for
them to "possess the land" and "reap where they have not sown". The
result was the horrific obscenity below, a genocidal holocaust of gigantic
proportions.
The Hamites who occupied the Land of Israel were not Semitic.
This is detailed in the Bible. You really should read it sometime.
Frank, there was only one Holocaust. Your attempt to misuse the word
is
yet another demonstration of your anti-Semitism.
--------
Deuteronomy 20:16-17 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord
thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing
that breatheth. But thou shalt utterly destroy them; the Hittites, and the
Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites
as the Lord thy God has commanded thee."
So, the Bible makes it clear that there were NO "palestinians" in
Israel. Good; that means that they have no legal claim to Israeli
land today. That having been esablished lets look at the rest of
your position.
Didn't you even read this before you posted it? It directly says
that God Himself commanded the execution of the idolater who occupied
Israel.
You want to condemn Israel for what God COMMANDED?????
You are calling God's actions evil.
Are you a Satanist???
Ezekiel 32:5 "I will strew your flesh upon the mountains, and fill the
valleys with your carcass. I will drench the land even to the mountains with
your flowing blood..."
Yes, this is part ot the message that God sent to the Pharoah of
Egypt. Are you trying to call God "evil"???
Frank, I thought you were an Atheist, but you sound like a Satanist.
Ezekiel 9:5 "Pass through the city after him, and smite; your eye shall
not spare and you shall show no pity; slay old men outright, young men and
maidens, little children and women...'"
Yes, God did command an angel to slay any Jew who had converted to any
religion other than Judaism.
What exactly is your point? You claimed that these verses were about
the Jews taking action against a people which did not exist when these
books of the Bible were written. Your claim was foolish to begin
with, but your quotes make no sence at all. Did you think that people
would be too stupid to look up the verses to see if you were taking
quotes out of context, or maybe even making things up completely? if
so, you were wrong. You have been caught attempting to use the Word
of God to promote your lie.
Deut. 7:1 (KJV)When Yahweh your god has settled you in the land you're
about to occupy, and driven out many infidels before you...you're to cut
them down and exterminate them. You're to make no compromise with
them nor show them any mercy.
Are you sure that the King Jimmy Translation calls the Pagans
"Infidels"?? You are using Islamic terminiology that does not apply
to these Pagans. Since the Pagan nations never knew God, they could
not be unfaithful (infidel) to Him. The Bible calls them "Goyim,"
which is Hebrew for "nations/Pagans."
Additionally, the actual Bible uses the word "brit" where you have
typed "compromise." "Brit" means "covenant." So, God forbid Israel,
His People, from making a deal with pagans. You could apply this to
today's situation meaning that God forbids Muslims from living in
Israel and forbids anyone who believes in God from making a peace
treaty that allows these pagans to take any Israeli land.
Joshua 10:40 - BBE So Joshua struck all the land, the hill-country, and
the South, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings: he left
none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as God, the God
of Israel, commanded."
So, God commanded all the pagans to be exected for defiling His land
and attempting to take it away from the Jews. God is the one in
charge of the Universe, so He can do that. To proove this fact, in
Joshua 10:12, God allows Joshua to issue a command to the Sun that it
stop in the sky until the battle was completed and then God caused the
Sun to obey Joshua's command. Obviously Joshua was nothing more than
a servant of God. Joshua obeyed God. It was God who decreed the
deaths of the Pagans who were living in Israel before the Jews took
possesion of the land that God gave to the Jews for all time. I would
not argue with God. Do you actually hate the Jews enough to claim God
sinned by ordering them to destroy these pagans? If so, go tell God
that you think that He is evil. LOL. We are all tired of hearing you
make these silly accusations against God.
1 Samuel 15:3 - BBE Now go and strike Amalek, and utterly destroy all
that they have, and don't spare them; but kill both man and woman, infant
and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."
Frank, you left off verse 2.
"So Said HaShem, Master of Legions: 'I have remembered what Amalek did
to Israel - the ambush he emplaced against him on the way as he went
up from Egypt"
So you are complaining about something that God did!
If you don't like God or think that He has committed any evil action,
take it up with Him when you go to be judged, but don't blame the Jews
for what God said and did. Personally, I trust God, and believe that
since He commanded it, it must have been the right thing.
Isaiah 13:16 - BBE Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before
their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped."
LOL
So, now you are blaming the Jews for what Darius the Meade did!
Frank, God chose to pay back Babylon for what they did to the Jews.
However he did not want to make the Jews do it. The Jews were/are not
violent enough to execute the sentance that God passed upon Babylon;
so, God made the Meades destroy Babylon. Haven't you bothered to read
the Bible?
Hosea 13:16 - BBE Samaria will bear her guilt; For she has rebelled
against her God. They will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed
in pieces, And their pregnant women will be ripped open."
Yes, the Jews in Samaria were horribly treated by the Assyrians. And
Yes, this happened because they stoped practicing Judaism and adopted
Pagan worship. I am not sure how this is supposed to illustrate Jews
hurting anyone since the Jews were the ones being hurt and killed.
Did you even bother to read the chapter before using this quote? Of
course, we also know that God destroyed Assyria for doing this - just
check a political map of the world, and you will see that Assyria is
not there anymore.
Psalms 137:9 - Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little
ones against the stones.
Frank, that is dishonest! You left off part of the verse. Let me
help:
"O daughter of Babylon, who has been violated, praiseworthy is the one
who repays you and your recompence for how you treated us praiseworthy
will be the one who will clutch and dash your infants against the
rock."
As you may not know, the Babylonians invaded Israel and were driven
back by King David. The Babylonians murdered Jewish infants when
they inbaded. While the Jews would not repay Babylon for this crime,
God caused Darius the Meade to invade Babylon and his Persian-Meadian
army did murder the infants of the Babylonians. And God blessed
them with all the wealth of Babylon for punishing the Babylonians
for their attack against Israel.
Moses in Numbers 31:17-18 Now therefore kill every male among the
little ones, and kill every woman, that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the female children, that have not known man by lying with him,
keep alive for yourself.
In Numbers 31:1&2, God (Jesus) ordered the execution of the
Midianites; in versees 17 & 18, Moses had to rebuke the Jews for being
too merciful. Frank, the Bible is full of incidents where the Jews
are too merciful to their enemies, just as we see today in the modern
nation of Israel.
Also, Frank, you changed verse 18. It Bible says "ishah (woman)," not
"female children." So not only do you hate what Jesus commanded, you
also lie about what the Bible says. You must really hate God! That
is why you Post to news groups pretending to be a Christian even
though you have admitted your Atheism, right?

I thought you Christian believed there is but one god and the Bibles were
authored or at least authorized by this god. If there are a thousands
different versions of Christianity why do you think it is correct or how do
you know which versions is the real one???

Recently I was denied membership at a extremely legalistic Fundamentalist
Church (in Santa Clara, CA). The Church was KJVO to the extreme, and
forbid their members and staff to watch movies, TV, dance, listen to
music, play video games,etc..
However I found another Fundamentalist Church where I am a better fit.
This church is not KJVO, but we preach from the KJV. The church likes John
MacArthur, while the other Fundamentalist Church could not stand
MacArthur, nor did they associate with him. My current pastor goes to the
Shepherds Conference everyyear. The pastor boldl;y preaches and teaches
the gospel, but the difference between this church and the KJVO church,
was that they would not deny someone a membership because they were
Baptized in the CM&A. I was Baptized in the CM&A in 1991, and this was
enough for the KJVO church to deny me membership, or require a second
Baptism.
CERM primarily uses the King James Version, the New King James, the New
American Standard Version, and the New International Version for the
writing of our articles. CERM does not agree with the King James Only
Fundamentalist movement. There are no perfect bible translations. Only the
originals are perfect. All translations have strengths and weaknesses.**
(See Footnote at Bottom of Page).
Thanks,
John

Because most of them believe that their own version of Christianity
is the genuine and original and authentic one, the one that Jesus
intended for all good Christians to follow.
You should just accept the fact that they are like that. Then you
won't have any problems with that.

"Are like" what? The difference between churches is merely one of
emphasis not of doctrine. Only atheists gloat about supposed differences,
when they catch one church preaching: Do good in the eyes of the Lord and be
holy, and the other preaches: Don't do evil in the eyes of the Lord, but be
holy.
