SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police are investigating two reports of attempted
kidnappings of 12-year-old girls Monday.

Police believe the same man tried to kidnap the Sul Ross Middle School
students.

One of the girls told KSAT 12 News that she was walking near Viva Max and
Townhill on her way to school when the man asked her if she wanted a ride.

The girl said she refused and ran away, which angered the man.

"He got really mad," the girl said. "Like he was going do something."

The girl also told KSAT 12 News that the same man tried to lure her into his
vehicle in October, an incident she had been too scared to talk about.

"I just don't want to talk about it because when I talk about it, I picture
it," the girl said.

The man is also suspected of trying to kidnap another Sul Ross female
student Monday morning, just a few streets away from the first incident.

In that incident, the girl told police she was walking to school at 8 a.m.
when a man, who was parked on Farragut Drive, rolled a window down and told
her to get into his sport utility vehicle, police said.

The girl then ran to a Valero convenience store in the 3900 block of
Callaghan Road, where a store clerk called 911, police said.

"That's a very smart thing to do," North Side Independent School District
spokesman Pascual Gonzalez said about the girl's actions. "Get into a public
place."

The man is believed to be in a dark colored sport utility vehicle that has a
bumper sticker of a pit bull or a rottweiler.
