" Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My word.
You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will

" And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them
in parables? " Mt 13:10
" Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do
not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. "

" All these things Jesus spoke to the multitudes in parables, and
He did not speak to them without a parable... " Mt 13:34

since it is not given to the unbeliever to know God, except as an
enemy ( Ro. 8:7, ) the claims made about God by these can only be
coming from hands dedicated to serving their father, the devil, as in
Joh. 8:44.
while man trys to understand himself and the world around him with
worldly wisdom, this worldly wisdom does not come to know God...
" For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did
not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of
the message preached to save those who believe. " 1 Cor. 1:21
but instead, this worldly wisdom is simply Gnosticism; and it's
followers are simply Gnostics.
Gnosticism is the end result of the sin of our first parents. they
wanted to " be like God knowing good and evil " ( Gen. 3:1-7 )
and they got exactly what their free will prompted them to do as with
all Gnostics... alienation from God and servetude to their master whom
they freely chose to obey by doing his will rather than God's will.
warned beforehand not to take from the Tree did not prevent them
from taking since their free will saw much personal gain in being
" like God. " however, the god they would be like was not the Lord
God. it was Satan they would be like. Joh. 8:44
( the word " God " in Gen. 3:5b is incorrectly capitalized giving
the reader the impression that the Lord God is the One whom Adam and
Eve thought they would be like if they ate from the Tree... the Lord
God does not know evil... " Psa 5:4 For Thou art not a God who
takes pleasure in wickedness; No evil dwells with Thee."
Satan was referring to himself when he said " you will be like god
( Satan, that is ) knowing good and evil, " and the blindness on the
part of our first parents assumed the deceiver was referring to the
Lord God. )
such is the case when the sons of Satan make their worldly
assertions from their worldly minds about the things of God which God
simply does not allow them to understand. Joh. 8:43,44; Mt. 13:13;
Ro. 8:7
