Go Figure 4 |
Why do these christian fundamentalists insist that they have proof that
their religious beliefs are true?
Don't they realise that belief without faith is nothing?
Only science requires evidence or facts, religion on the other hand
needs only the faith of the believer.

We are looking at the world though our faith. So, what is
proof to us is not necessarily proof to an unbeliever.
Some fundamentalists do not understand this so they keep
proclaiming the "Proof" to unbelievers.
The way I see it is that this life is a test and our ability to
make choices based on proof, faith, and any other variables
is part of the test. If one chooses to not use all the
information available to him, he puts himself at a
disadvantage.
Those that demand "Proof" are doing just that.

Judaism and Christianity are based on:
1) God's action in historical events and personal life
2) Reason (philosophy, science, observation, etc.)
3) Faith (a personal response to God in trust based on 1+2 which
leads to...)
4) Confirmation (personal experiential knowledge)
5) Repeat

Faith fails from time to time, giving rise to doubt, so the religious
try to undergird their beliefs with reason. Half the time it works.

If some god came knocking on my door and said "Believe or else!", I'd
believe...no faith required.

Ah, the very act of believing requires faith, you wouldnt have to
believe you would have the fact of a god staring you in the face. Facts
dont require you to believe in them, they exist whether you believe
them to be so or not.
