Object: Gods appointed servants in office
About everytime I turn on the TV or radio I see and hear many
commercials which do nothing but criticize Governor Swarzenegger. Also
today while I was driving in the East Bay on I-80 I drove past a huge
billboard with even more unnecessary criticism towards the governor.
I respond with the following from the bible.
Rom. 13:1 ĥ Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities,
for there is no authority except that which God has established. The
authorities that exist have been established by God.
Rom. 13:2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling
against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment
on themselves.
Rom. 13:3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for
those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in
authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
Rom. 13:4 For he is Godıs servant to do you good. But if you do wrong,
be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is Godıs
servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
Rom. 13:5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not
only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
Rom. 13:6 ĥ This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are
Godıs servants, who give their full time to governing.
I will continue to preach and teach the word here until the due time for
me comes.
God bless!

Rom. 13:1 ĥ Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities,

Which governing authorities exactly? There have been many kinds of governing
authorities, both good and evil. It should be more specific.

for there is no authority except that which God has established. The
authorities that exist have been established by God.

Bull crap. What about the scores of tyrannical and genocidal authorities
that have reared their ugly heads in our history?
Maybe the bible god is evil himself. Then the verse would make sense.

Rom. 13:2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling
against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment
on themselves.

Man concocted fascism crap.

Rom. 13:3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for
those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in
authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
Rom. 13:4 For he is Godıs servant to do you good. But if you do wrong,

Rom. 13:6 ĥ This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are
Godıs servants, who give their full time to governing.

If these are God's words then why would God give a damn about taxes?
These verses were clearly put into the scriptures by the Roman government
for the purpose of controlling the people under the guise of God.
This is why we must have separation of church and government.
Christianity and maybe a few other religions are the only ones that claim
that our maker is a vindictive fascist dictator.
Pathetic.

I will continue to preach and teach the word here until the due time for
me comes.

Come from where? And what are you going to do when you come?

I will continue to preach and teach the word here until the due time for
me comes.

When do you intend to start?
"Preach" means to proclaim, when have you preached the gospel on this board?
The one Jesus taught: "Repent for the kingdom of God is near?"
I suppose that it might help you to preach it if you actually obeyed it.
As to teaching,:
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach
you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are
become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that
useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Conservatives love to quote this when one of their own is in office, but
they refused to obey their interpretation of it when someone from the left
is in office.
Let's go through this a little:
This passage tells us to obey the authorities and pay taxes (a problem for
Conservatives) - period.
We still live in a democratic society, so far Bush hasn't thrown out free
speech entirely (just bruised it badly). Under the American Declaration of
Independence, the Constitution and system of government, dissent is not only
a right, but an obligation. In addition, in our system, the President and
Congress are not our rulers but our employees and it is necessary for us to
continually evaluate our employees' performance.
Thus, by pointing out the abuses of the Bush Administration (or any
administration), people are obeying this passage of scripture.

Please reread my post. I was not talking about the Bush Administration.
I was talking about the Swarzenegger administration since I am a
California resident and get to hear all the moaning and complaining
about him in the liberal bay Area where he lost badly in 2003.
Bay Area people hate Swarzenegger almost as much as Bush! Look at the
past 2 major elections and see that they both got blasted in the 12 Bay
Area counties.
Some hide behind their unions that Swarzenegger is exposing and making
it hard for these loafers to keep their jobs. Not that all unions are
bad, as unions do help protect employees from harassing employers who
like to fire employees who work hard (like what happened to me 2 months
ago)etc.
So its no wonder the loafers hate Swarzenegger and want him out of
office!

with one Monica in the Oval office, giving the "Oval Office" a new
meaning.
I don't recall GWB soliciting campaign funding from North Korea and

were CAUGHT doing and IGNORED by the left-controlled Congress of their

I'm sure you could find a way to stick GWB with blame for the Fall.

they refused to obey their interpretation of it when someone from the left

Let's go through this a little:

This passage tells us to obey the authorities and pay taxes (a problem for
Conservatives) - period.

Paying taxes is not something conservatives object to. We simply
object to the left having their hands in our pockets day and night,
pretending they know better how to spend our money than we do.
Anyone with a logical, rational brain understands that you simply
cannot overtax the wealthy. It simply isn't possible, for a list of
reasons I have discussed in here MANY times. Briefly.
when the wealthy (business executives) are taxed,
1. they merely pass on the cost of paying the taxes in higher prices
for their goods and services
2. they hire more attorneys to find more ways AROUND paying the higher
taxes. This is also known as "finding the loopholes".
3. if all else fails, as happened shortly after WJC was elected ("Mr
Tax and Spend" himself), MANY of our corporations located "off-shore"
so that they wouldn't have to pay the higher taxes.
Why shouldn't the executive pay 25 % or 35% or 45 % or 65 % of his
income as TAX? If he is legislated to pay 45% of his yearly income in
taxes, what is his incentive to continue to earn the higher wages?
There is none!

We still live in a democratic society,

No thanks to WJC, who SEVERELY restricted it within WEEKS after being
sworn in, or did you miss that one?
so far Bush hasn't thrown out free

speech entirely (just bruised it badly).

LOL!!! And I bet if you could blame WW I and the Crusades on GWB,
you'd find a way!
Under the American Declaration of

Independence, the Constitution and system of government, dissent is not only
a right, but an obligation.

Well, I DO recall Nixon jailing protesters. I don't recall GWB doing
it!
In addition, in our system, the President and

Congress are not our rulers but our employees and it is necessary for us to
continually evaluate our employees' performance.

Absolutely, but with RESPECT. It's one thing to say he's doing a
*****-poor job. THAT is a fair evaluation if that's what you sincerely
believe. It's entirely something else to call him a murderer, a thief,
a traitor, etc.

Thus, by pointing out the abuses of the Bush Administration (or any
administration), people are obeying this passage of scripture.

AGAIN, pointing out what we see as abuse is one thing. Blaming the
individual himself and calling him every ugly name you can think of is
something else.
God bless!

These are the passages used when the labor movement got started.
For the most part the churches supported the government which allowed thugs
in to bust up unions and who frequently sent the military in when that
failed.
"In April 1914, two National Guard companies were stationed in
the hills overlooking the largest tent colony of strikers, the
one at Ludlow, housing a thousand men, women, children. On the
morning of April 20, a machine gun attack began on the tents.
The miners fired back. Their leader, ..., was lured up into
the hills to discuss a truce, then shot to death by a company
of National Guardsmen. The women and children dug pits beneath
the tents to escape the gunfire. At dusk, the Guard moved down
from the hills with torches, set fire to the tents, and the
families fled into the hills; thirteen people were killed by
gunfire.
The following day, a telephone linesman going through the
ruins of the Ludlow tent colony lifted an iron cot covering a
pit in one of the tents and found the charred, twisted bodies
of eleven children and two women. This became known as the
Ludlow Massacre."

About everytime I turn on the TV or radio I see and hear many
commercials which do nothing but criticize Governor Swarzenegger. Also
today while I was driving in the East Bay on I-80 I drove past a huge

So I guess God appointed Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Saddam
Hussein. Ridiculous. "The authorities are God's servants?"
Laughable. And you think that the Council of Nicea didn't put these
passages in to preserve "the divine right of kings"?
Personally, I wish Paul had kept it to himself and let the real
apostles spread the gospel. He did more to muddy the waters than any
figure in Christendom.

Actually the First Council of Nicaea did not consider the canon of
scripture at all -- it's a popular myth that does the rounds, and seems
to go back to either a careless statement by St. Jerome about the OT
apocrypha, or a 9th century synodicon.

Not your fault, of course! There are people out there making up the
most awful fictions based on this supposed event. I just got bored
with hearing them and wondered what the ancient texts actually said
about Nicaea.
All the best,
