God's Israel Identity |
There seems to be quite a discussion in our day as to
“God’s Israel Identity".

There are those who hold that the true Israel of God are
those who can trace their blood line to Abraham through
Isaac, if it were possible.
There are those who claim that people who have gone
through and keep certain rituals and ceremonies are
the true Israel. There are those who claim that the
residents of the Palestinian nation of "Israel" are the
true Israel. There are those who claim, "evidence",
that the race is the true Israel. Midst all the voices
calling out, "We are the true Israel of God", or
"They are the true Israel". It seems that God's voice
(Word) is ignored.
Jesus Is Israel. Jesus is the Eschaton, the fulfillment
and the fulfiller, of the anti-type and completion of all
old covenant types (fleshly Israel). Physical National
Israel existed for a specific time and a specific purpose.
It's purpose was to bring forth the Messiah... the True
Israel...the Seed Singular.
Did you know, God doesn't care race the outside?
He looks at the heart! Peter said about the Lord,
"I truly understand that God shows no partiality,
but in every nation anyone who fears him and does
what is right is acceptable to him" (Acts 10:34-35).
Praise Be to God - it has nothing to do with race,
it has everything to do with grace!
God's promise was never meant to be realized by fleshly
national Israel as a whole. God's promises were always
limited, they were to the true, spiritual Israel. The
promises were for Isaac and not Ishmael, they were
for Jacob and not Esau. God has not gone back on
His promises, they were misunderstood, and they are
still being misunderstood today. God is finished with
Israel as a nation. Spiritual Israel is now God's special
people.
I find some Christians believe that fleshly Israel the Jews,
the nation Israel, are God's special people. Despite all
the Bible says about faith, they think there was a special
blessing in physical descent. "For you are all sons of God
through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26 NKJV). It is
against this background that we are introduced to Abraham.
The significance of our introduction to Abraham at this
juncture is to show God’s work in preserving a goodly
seed in the earth by making of Abraham a separate nation
unto himself. However, this work would not culminate in
the founding of national Israel under Moses, but in the seed
Christ. Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made.
He does not say, "And to seeds", as of many, but as of one,
"And to your Seed", who is Christ (Galatians.3:16).
Although Paul seems to be making a point about the grammar
of Genesis 21:12, Paul knew his Hebrew, and knew that seed
in Genesis was singular (in this case). Thus Paul is not
making a gramatical argument, but an interpretive arguement.
Paul is arguing that not *all* of Abraham's offspring
were heirs. This is blessed Isaac, not Ishmael, will
your offspring be named. The promise to Abraham
is "In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be
blessed". The traditional way of understanding Paul's
interpretation of this is that Paul is claiming that through
Abraham's physical offspring the Messiah Jesus would
come. However Paul has just finished arguing that the
physical offspring was not the criteria for being Abraham's
seed, otherwise Ishmael would also be Abraham's seed.
Paul is interpreting the Genesis text this way. Now to
Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He
does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one,
"And to your Seed", who is Christ (Galatians.3:16).
Paul is pointing us to the nature of God's promise to
Abraham. This was not all the offspring of Abraham,
natural descendants.
God also intended that there be a spiritual seed unto
Abraham among the Gentiles. When the Apostle Paul
says, "Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children
of promise" (Gal. 4:28), he is addressing Gentiles in the
church of Galatia. It is the Gentiles to whom John the
Baptist is referring when he says, "God is able of these
stones to raise up children unto Abraham", Matthew. 3:9.
Hence the Apostle Paul says to the Gentiles, "And if ye be
Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according
to the promise" (Galatians. 3:29). Thus Paul understands
the promise to Abraham as "even the Gentiles shall be
blessed by being in the group of people known as Abraham's
seed". And if you are in Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s
seed, and heir according to the promise" (Galatians.
3:27-29; cf John. 1:13; 3:3-5). "By being in Abraham's
seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed".
In His work of grace God makes dead sinners living children
of God, a spiritual seed of Abraham, whether they be Jew
or Gentile. This was the teaching of John the Baptist
(Matt. 3:9; Luke 3:8).
Through obedience to the Gospel, every race and language
of men are made heirs of the promise to Abraham: "For as
many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one
in Christ Jesus".
Within national Israel is "true Israel", or "spiritual
Israel". But it is not that the word of God has taken
no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel,
(Roman 9:6). National Israel was chosen to be a vehicle
of blessing to the world, but not all within the nation were
the Israel of God. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision
nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and
mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God
(Galatians 6:15-16).
The evidence that you are God's spiritual Israel is that
you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. To be in Christ
was to be apart of God's spiritual Israel. just as Abraham
"believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness". Therefore know that only those who are

articles fromt he "Preterist Archive" hoping to "declare victory" simply
by overwhelming us with the volume of his cut'n'pate spam!

one or two posts, when you see that your
doctrine is falling apart!
Of course, some people, like you, don't even
get that far and just immediately attack!
So let us note that now, once again, you have
proven to us that instead of discussing the issue
presented, you thought it best to attack me
personally instead. And yet, here you are,
hypocritically claiming that I'm the one who
refuses to debate an issue. <chuckle>
And btw, falsely labeling something "spam",
just because you don't like what it says,
only further proves your dishonesty and
lack of integrity.

The evidence that you are God's spiritual Israel is that
you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. To be in Christ
was to be apart of God's spiritual Israel. just as Abraham
"believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness". Therefore know that only those who are
of faith are sons of Abraham (Galatians 3:6-9). Who are
Abraham's true children? Those of faith not physical
descent.
The so-called "Pastor" Dave challenges ACC to debate Preterism. After
only 2-3 rounds of discussion, he abandons any attempt to debate the
theology and the facts, and SPAM's ACC with FOURTY (40) cut'n'paste
articles fromt he "Preterist Archive" hoping to "declare victory" simply
by overwhelming us with the volume of his cut'n'pate spam!

You say Dave challenged ACC to debate Preterism.
However it seems to me that you were one of those
planning an offensive against Preterism! Are you
feeling overwhelmed by only 40 posts by Dave? I expect
we could find several hundred more easily. But then I
thought you said that Preterism is something that noone
really believes in, and that there is no support for
Preterism. Now you can't handle 40 posts. What sort
of offensive is this! You should have stayed home!
So this is your best response to content, is to spam us
with your lack of content! (Smirk) Please Glen,
psalmsmith, gunny freedom, you must have something
important to run off and do! Why do you waste our time?
Maybe you would prefer to check into some of your other
schemes which you have brought up and then run from
when it came time to really explain and support with
scripture. We can search the archives and find those
threads, if you would like to explain yourself now!
Where are your friends Chuck and Baba? Did they leave
you here all alone? After planning this masterful
offensive of presenting the wisdom of the Church
fathers. I would say you got left holding the bag!
