Object: Going to heaven
That has been the false promise of the Christor Cult since the
Pauline "letters" were composed, originally promising the imminent
coming of the new god Christos in the clouds to take the living cultists
and their resurrected relatives "in the air".
(1 Thessalonians 4:17.
"Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be
with the Lord.")
The whole thing went up in smoke "in the air" when it didn't happen,
so priests of the cult told people first they had to die and it was
their "soul" that would go up -- and not just in the air, but into "heaven".
The Sadducees had it right in the first place, and so did the Epicurean
author of the book of Ecclesiastes, which someoen managed to sneak into
the Bible to remind people of the truth of reality. -- L.

You speak of the rapture. It hasn't happened yet and could happen at any
time, and no one knows when, except God
Jesus said:
Mark 13:32-33
But of that day and that hour knoweth no
man, no, not the angels which are in
heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye
know not when the time is.
When Jesus comes, those who are saved:
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall
be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and
so shall we ever be with the Lord.

No, it hasn't happened yet. What made you think it was supposed to happen
already?

===>The verse is talking about THE WRITER AND THE THESSALONIANS,
about something that he is promising to happen when "we which are
alive" were still alive!
It has nothing to do with some unknown event at some undefined time.
It was just a false MARKETING GIMMICK, since once a convert died,
he could not come back to reclaim the fees paid to his teacher.
and could happen at any

time, and no one knows when, except God

made to say things like:
"Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who
will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His

writers of what was promised by the Christos Cult (see above,
1 Thessalonian), -- L.

But in fact the Church authoritoes realized this was just a false

The fact they still preaqch about "resurrection" just shows how dumb

Some sects have realized this and decided to choose one or the other,

That is just one reason for the existence of thousands of Christian

===>The verse is talking about THE WRITER AND THE THESSALONIANS,

This is where you go astray.
Once you realize this, "we" who are alive and remain means "We Christians
(who happen to be alive and remain at the time) who are alive and remain.",
which may include the current Christians physically addressed, or may not
(and obvious did not), you'll realize there's no false promise as this has
yet to be fulfilled.
For example, I'm not sure the rapture will happen in my lifetime. Maybe it
will, maybe it won't. But I would still be able to say to other Christians
"We who are alive and remain will be caught up togethether .. " and most
people would be honest in admitting they know exactly what I'm talking
about: it might include me and those who hear my words, and it might not.
I'm referring to "we Christians" as "we" are a group, both past, present and
future. We are children of God.

about something that he is promising to happen when "we which are
alive" were still alive!

===>That "God" exists only in your head, and will die when you die.

That God exists everyone will find out when each of us dies and face the
judgment throne of Jesus Christ. You cannot afford to be wrong about it.
Please consider that perhaps you're not as convinced as you think, as you
spend much time in here trying to convince yourself otherwise? That's very
real personal issue you should put serious thought into, as it's some
personally compelling evidence for you to consider.

will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."
(Matthew 16:28),

And they ~did~ see Jesus, the Son of God and the Son of Man risen from the
dead, coming in His kingdom. Nothing contradictory about it.

"there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death

But in fact the Church authoritoes realized this was just a false promise,

If they thought it was a false promise, they would have tried to "correct"
it, as they've had a chance to do so for THOUSANDS of years. They didn't. It
stands just as it always was. The "false promise" is in the eyes of those
looking for any contrived reason to believe it is so; To use it as a cruch
to assuage their discomfort the conviction of believers they see generates
in them.

so the borrowe3d the idea of the "immortal soul" from Paganism.
The fact they still preaqch about "resurrection" just shows how dumb

That is just one reason for the existence of thousands of Christian

Many reasons there are new religions are to make small changes to the Word
of God for the sake of personal comfort. This is idolatry, worshipping a
different God that exists only in their minds, and not by the Word. But
fundamentalists realize we cannot and should not blaspheme God by changing
His Word. Nor do we need to.

The LAW OF SECTS says:

Do You Want To Know For Sure That You Are Going To Heaven? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure that you are going to Heaven
