Masters And Servants
Freewill: God gave man freewill and the Standard by which
to obtain life eternal; if God did not give man freewill --
and the strength to keep His Standard -- God would have no
legitimate right to judge man according to said Standard.
Whereas animals live by instinct, man lives by choices.
Everything a man does, he does of his own freewill; man is
not controlled by his genetic code. If he were, God would
have no right to judge him, since he would merely be
following his pre-programmed code. Your current
circumstances are the direct result of the choices you have
made in the past.
Servitude: Everyone serves someone; you either serve God,
the devil, or yourself. If you serve yourself, you are
selfish; and selfishness is of the devil: Thus, serving
yourself is equivalent to serving the devil, since Satan is
the god of self-centredness. All service is rewarded: If
you serve God, you will be rewarded with life eternal; if
you serve the devil or yourself, you will be rewarded with
death eternal. How do I serve the devil? By doing nothing
for God. How do I serve God? By keeping His commandments.
Suppose I want to serve God, but I don't know where to
begin? Begin by keeping the Ten Commandments (a list of
which can be found elsewhere in this document). The Ten
Commandments are so simple that even a child can understand
them -- but only a man of God can keep them. The next thing
to do in your service to God is to study His word daily.
Studying the word of God keeps you in contact with Him --
the Source of life. Soil is the source of life for plants;
if you remove a plant from the soil, it will die. Likewise
if you disconnect yourself from God, you will die
(spiritually).
