"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall
not pass away" (Matthew 24:35).
"The world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but he
that doeth the will of God abideth for ever"
(1 John 2:17).
"We look not at the things which are seen, but at the
things which are not seen, for the things which are
seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen
are eternal" (2 Corinthians 4:18).
"Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the
earth beneath, for the heavens shall vanish away like
smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and
they that dwell therein shall die in like manner, but
my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness
shall not be abolished" (Isaiah 51:6).
"The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night,
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,
the earth also and the works that are therein shall be
burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be
dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in
all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and
hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the
elements shall melt with fervent heat?
|
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for
new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth
righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look
for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of
him in peace, without spot, and blameless"
(2 Peter 3:10-14).
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and
abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all
the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass
withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away, but
the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is
the word which by the gospel is preached unto you"
(1 Peter 1:23-25).
