Devotional Guide
For the week of September 19, 2004
LET'S NOT RETREAT
How a life preserver is a message
To Read: Psalm 91-93
To Know:
"Arise, O Lord! Deliver me, O my God! For thou dost smite all my enemies on
the cheek, thou dost break the teeth of the wicked. Deliverance belongs to
the Lord; thy blessing be upon thy people!" (Psalm 3:7,8)
Jesus came to save sinners. The only way Christ could save a sinner was to
substitute himself for the guilty. When someone is drowning there is a
theoretical choice in order to save the swimmer. We could throw a life
preserver or drain the lake. Saving sinners by reforming society is
equivalent to draining the lake. Sin is personal, not structural. We do not
sin because the society dictates our behavior. Sin is wanting and needing
our own way. After society is reformed we will possess the same nature. When
Jesus died in the place of sinners, he threw a life preserver to the
perishing.
"Salvation (deliverance) belongs to the Lord" (Ps.3: 8) Jesus is God's
salvation. Christ came to earth to wage war against sin and evil. He is the
divine bow and arrow (Zech. 9:13) He came to defeat the enemies of his
people. Jesus is the only weapon powerful enough to destroy evil eternally.
Liberal pulpits proclaim that God's plan is to save the world by perfecting
society. They believe that the Lord has chosen to drain the lake. Christian
social action is the consequence and not the cause of our salvation.
Christian social action is the fruit of hearts that have been transformed by
the grace of God. According to Christ himself, we are saved one sinner at a
time.
To Do:
God's life preserver is a message. It is the proclamation that every person
on earth who entrusts his or her life to the care of Jesus Christ will be
justified before God in the day of judgment and preserved alive for all
eternity to come. We love the world when we bear witness that God's way of
salvation is to place our faith in Jesus Christ.
To Ask:
Father, Thank you for your great salvation.

To Know:

To know: You are severely brainwashed.

Jesus came to save sinners. The only way Christ could save a sinner was to
substitute himself for the guilty.

If the God of the bible accepted a substitute for a misdeed then that means
he didn't really care who did what and why, he just wanted to satisfy his
evil thirst for revenge on someone, anyone. It's just like a loan shark who
doesn't care who pays back the loan, just as long as he gets his filthy
money.
Financial debts can be paid by someone else but not misdeeds because then
the culprit will continue to do it again and again which is exactly what's
been happening in this world. The Christian salvation system is clearly not
working and the proof is right in front of you.
Don't worship this demonic strawman of the bible.
If you do then you are an accessory to this insidious and protracted crime
against humanity.

To Do:

To do: Burn your bible and grow a frikkin brain.

Father, Thank you for your great salvation.

What are you thanking him for? For not destroying us out of his evil
vengeance?
Give me a break.

In a round about way much of it does, in that the New Covenant teaches love,
to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, to do to others as we would want
them to do to us, to care for those less well off than ourselves, for as we
treat them we treat God Himself, etc.
We wouldn't want someone cheating with our wives, we wouldn't want someone
stealing from us, etc.
Jesus listed the ones which apply, in the story of the rich young man (I am
too lazy to look it up) which doesn't include the Sabbeth law, to which God
gave the "son of man" authority over.
