How Jesus Saves |
When I was lost in the world of Mormonism
and could not be reached by Christians,
the Lord Jesus himself reached me.
This is how:
One day the Lord put a driving intense hunger
in my heart for him that pulled me toward him
and continued unabated for week after week.
The unrelenting hunger drove me to listen
to Christian radio day after day so that
on that Passover day about noon
I was listening when a minister taught
from the book of Romans about
Christ on the cross being our Substitute.
Suddenly as though a light went on inside,
I understood the truth that leads to life:
Christ is my Righteousness and my Salvation.
The righteousness required for salvation
was not in any part whatsoever from me.
I knew my eternal destiny was totally
in his hands and not at all in mine.
That moment that Christ enabled me
to understand that he is my righteousness
and my salvation, I took all my trust from
all else (repentance, baptism, efforts, giving)
and placed all my trust on Christ for salvation.
That same moment that Christ enabled me
to transfer my trust from all else onto him,
he removed shells of hardness from my heart
and Christ came into my heart like a Light.
I knew him as though meeting him face to face.
I knew I had eternal life, and he was that Life.
This is my testimony:
Christ must be the sole object of your trust
for righteousness and salvation.
That trust cannot be partly on your faith,
repentance, surrender, commitment, efforts,
baptism, giving, service, or church.
You are made right with God only by Christ
taking your place in the sight of God.
The moment you trust in Christ for salvation,
you gives you eternal life never to be lost.
After that he causes you to grow in him
and walk in him as he lives his life in you.
He causes you to live a life of repentence,
surrender, commitment, giving, and service
all from love for him, and to make every effort

Why didn't Jesus go to all the other countries and tell everyone before they
set up their own religions?
Its too late now.
You can't expect everyone to just abandon their own gods and traditions just
because of some wild claims in one religion's book.
When he said "me", I don't think he was being literal and personal. You
can't expect everyone in the whole world to turn to one person, especially
if they don't understand what he was on about and their culture and beliefs
are completely different.
I think Christians have misunderstood Jesus to a great extent.
Christians enjoy worshipping the messenger too much.

other monotheistic gods. The same is true of the Eternal Buddha (not Buddha
the man) and the Hindu supreme god Brahmin and the Egyptian sun god Aten
(Aton).

I wonder why atheists always get impolite when they are faced with the
Gospel...
Bob, what makes you so angry? You could say, "Oh, the Christians are all
nuts" and move on, but no, atheists must insult Christians for their
faith - just because they cannot understand them and have not met God
personally yet. Why do you not give God a chance, Bob?
Why not start a new approach, saying, "What if Jesus Christ was really
God's Son? What if he was really born by a virgin? What if he was really
resurrected and overcame death?" I bet you have never really answered
these questions, but you have rejected them before you could see God's
Glory.

Bob, what makes you so angry? You could say, "Oh, the Christians are all
nuts" and move on, but no, atheists must insult Christians for their
faith - just because they cannot understand them and have not met God
personally yet. Why do you not give God a chance, Bob?

God's Son? What if he was really born by a virgin? What if he was really
resurrected and overcame death?" I bet you have never really answered

I think it is almost impossible to reach anyone with the Gospel in a
newsgroup unless the Lord is involved, you are absolutely right. But to
encourage you, let me tell you that God reached me in the internet when
I had not thought of such a chance at all. He hit me right from above,
right in my heart, and there He is, and I beg that He will stay there
for the rest of my life on earth. And then ... well, I have the idea
that things will be completely different then, and only love will be
everywhere.
God is with His people, and if many of the trolling people did not feel
there is something around us they would not find us important enough to
attack us all the while as they do. But we were not promised a rose
garden on earth... There is still a way to go for us.
It is also important to know that God's Word never comes back void. So
what we can do to reach those who the Lord has chosen by sowing. :-) By
the way, that is what drives all those who are not being called crazy.
The devil tries hard to stop us from preaching the Gospel...

It makes it very difficult to try reaching some of these guys. How
do you feel about them not being called by God ? I think you could
talk personally with them willing to listen for two weeks straight
and they couldn't understand their predicament it is like wasting
your breath. But the worse thing they try to do is keep others that
are called by God from concentrating and all they want to accomplish
is as much disruption with the attempt of making you feel like it is
just not worth it and go fishing for yourself instead of the Father

I think it is almost impossible to reach anyone with the Gospel in a newsgroup unless the Lord is involved, you are absolutely
right. But to encourage you, let me tell you that God reached me in the internet when I had not thought of such a chance at all.
He hit me right from above, right in my heart, and there He is, and I beg that He will stay there for the rest of my life on
earth. And then ... well, I have the idea that things will be completely different then, and only love will be everywhere.
God is with His people, and if many of the trolling people did not feel there is something around us they would not find us
important enough to attack us all the while as they do. But we were not promised a rose garden on earth... There is still a way to
go for us.
It is also important to know that God's Word never comes back void. So what we can do to reach those who the Lord has chosen by
sowing. :-) By the way, that is what drives all those who are not being called crazy. The devil tries hard to stop us from
preaching the Gospel...
