JESUS WILL NEVER GO AWAY
How Judas was evil
To Read: 2 Corinthians 10,11
To Know:
"When Judas, his betrayer, saw that he was condemned, he repented and
brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the
elders, saying, ' I have sinned in betraying innocent blood.' They said,
'What is that to us? See to it yourself.'" (Matt. 27:3,4)
What do you plan to do about the injustice suffered by Jesus Christ? On
Monday we answered the objector who says, "Jesus died long ago and cannot be
my present problem." Yesterday we answered the person who, like Pontius
Pilate, washed his hands of Christ altogether. Today we turn to Judas
Iscariot. The betrayer saw in Christ his opportunity for financial gain.
Judas was a thief and to him Jesus meant money. Twenty centuries ago 30
pieces of silver was a huge sum of money. We are not told how soon after
being called to follow Christ Judas decided to sell him out. This disciple
saw Jesus mighty works and heard his masterful teaching to no avail. He
recognized in Jesus neither his God nor his Messiah yet he was both. Adam's
offspring have no heart for faith in the true God. Fallen human nature
willingly blinds itself to the truth about the creator. Paul wrote regarding
all humankind, "So they are without excuse; for although they knew God they
did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in
their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise,
they became fools, and exchanged the glory of God for images resembling
mortal man or birds or animals or reptiles." Judas proves that before a man
in born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.
To Do:
There are many on our airwaves pleading for those that desperately need to
know God to send them money for that help. It does not defy the will of God
for those who serve him to be provided for by those they help. A workman is
worthy of his hire. It is ungodly to profit from the sufferings of those
that desperately need the help of heaven. Sinners whether or not they knew
it, needed the Savior to shed his blood in their stead. For Judas to profit
financially from the cross was evil.

It was God's will all along that Jesus suffered injustice, since the
death on the Cross was the _only_ way to forgive humans we are being
told. Judas _sin_ was therefore a _necessary_ act to achieve this goal.....

"In fact, many professing agnostics are nearer belief in
the true God then are many conventional church-goers who
believe in a bogey hat does not exist whom they miscall God."
Leslie D. Weatherhead; Preface to his "The Christian Agnostic"
--
I haven't read it, and I'm being hugely bigoted based on the
minor details that his premise is stupid beyond belief and he's a
mediocre writer -- Mark 'Kamikaze' Hughes in RASFW
