How take action; do it!
To Read: Psalm 61-63
To Know:
"Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord
filled the tabernacle." (Exodus 40:34)
Gordon Divinity students studied in Frost Hall. Martha Frost, a vigorous and
intelligent lady, lived in Belmont. Nathan Wood was about to knock on Martha
's door when an urgent desire to pray fell on him. Wood had come to ask her
for financial help that the Gordon Bible Institute might build its own
building. A friendly conversation began by Miss Frost saying that she had
just given $25 to help the hospital and therefore could not help the school.
Dean Wood assured the lady that Gordon wanted friends more than they wanted
money. They talked of the students' eagerness to sacrifice in order to serve
the Lord. A week later a postcard arrived at the Wood home: "Sorry I cannot
give to so good a work. Martha D. Frost."
Two months later Wood's phone rang and a man's voice said, "There is a lady
here who wants to make a gift to the Gordon School." Martha Frost had lain
awake nights and sat at her window days thinking about the needs of Gordon
students for a place to live while they prepared for a life of Christian
service. She had come to give $10,000.00 and bequeath her house to the
school. Frost Hall became the place where many men and women were trained to
bring the transforming truth of Christ to a dying world.
To Do:
God's glory descended on the tabernacle in the wilderness to manifest to the
people that the Lord was with them. When Nathan Wood waited on the door
stoop for Martha Frost to answer the bell a powerful urge to pray descended
on him. Our Lord has not stopped coming to us. When you sense a prompting to
take an action that does not violate God's revealed will, do it. You will be
amazed at how present and personal God wills to be.

Father, make my faith a living experience of your daily personal presence.
