Object: I am a democrat but now I know our President was right
As a lifelong Democrat, I despised George Bush getting us into a war that
killed 1,300 of our brave boys. I believed the whiney liberals like Barbara
Boxer and the obstructionist policies of the democrat party.
But now I have to be honest (which is something many of us democrats have
problems with) and say that our President knew best all along! The
outstanding success of the first free elections in Iraq shows that our
President had a bold policy, while Christians normally abhor the philosophy
of "the end justifies the means," it was the right thing that NEEDED to be
done in this particular case. It makes me proud to be an American, proud
of America, and most of all PROUD OF MY PRESIDENT. President Bush was
right and I was wrong. His bold actions - to basically go to war against a
billion muslims - has paid off, and also opens a door to these people not
only to have a democracy, but to hear the Word of Jesus Christ.
I think our President's soaring popularity shows that most Americans and
the world agree.

It was an important in terms of the Iraqi's getting their first taste of
freedom. But when the goal is a stable democratic Iraq, an election that
is boycotted by a huge portion (and arguably one of the most important
portions) of the country, then it really can't be called a success.

Bold doesn't mean right.

In what way? Iraq is going to end the war on terrorism? That's
insanely narrow minded.

What we have here, is a Republican shill, trying his best to score
points for the President. It isn't working. Iraq was a stupid
adventure.

Bush's ''soaring popularity''? Where?
We have succeeded in splitting Iraq into 3. We have captured the
South for the radical Iranian Mullahs and we will have Turkey involved
in a seccessionist war before the year is over.
Marvelous achievement.
Bush is Midas in reverse.

I think you have lost touch with reality if you think that Iraq is
suddenly going to swap a bunch of Christian fairy stories for their
traditional favourites.
Besides are you so sure that Christ would have approved of the hundreds
of thousands of deaths and injuries to so many innocent people?
I thought he was supposed to be a man of peace and brotherly love
not a supporter of torture and murder.
Perhaps you mistake Saddam for Jesus.
The election in Iraq is the only positive gain for the Iraqis from
Bushes
catastrophic visitation and even then the results will not necessarily
bring the peace and absence of a vicious occupying foreign army
that almost every Iraqi so desperately wants.
Democracy is a great thing to have. Maybe it will come back to America
one day.
Americans have the vote but the counting process has become corrupted.
It's a bit like swapping real Dollars for fakes and believing they are
worth the same.

I admire your zeal, but let's step back and look at this election. It's as
if America was to have an election where only the red states participated
and the blue states basically sat the whole thing out. The Sunnis didn't
participate. What's more, let's take it one step further. After the blue
states didn't participate, the red states said they would work extra hard to
make sure the blue states had enough representation. If this were the case
in America, it would be called a fair election. It's a bold step. But I am
not convinced we're any better off than the day we went in. We tried to make
Haiti safe for democracy in the 20's. Look what's happened since

I think you are telling a lie about your lifelong Democratic

Do you remember this letter you wrote to Senator John McCain?
"I am outraged that you are supporting Sen. Schumer in trying to
prohibit more Americans from owning guns with his S. 2826. This bill
spends millions of dollars to further prop up the unconstitutional
Brady Law, but there is no authority for the Federal government to do
this under the Second and Tenth Amendments. You are a disgrace to the
office to which you were elected and I am disgusted that you represent
the state of Arizona. You should go ahead and join the Democrat party
since you always vote with them these days. Better yet, resign and
let someone who truly represents Arizona take the office."

Good catch, Roedy.
I also found ramblings on his pages with such topics as:
- Why Christians should Vote Republican
- Why you should support Bush for President
- Electing a Conservative government
These have dates starting in 1999, so his "conversion"
came well before the causes of that conversion...

Given the lack of WMDs, the Bush lies and the slaughter of our troops
and the slaughter of the Iraqis, what's the current position of the LDS
church with regard to the invasion of Iraq?
I know that the vast majority of Churchs are against the war, but given
the Mormon worship of the Republicans and their fundamentalist
believes, I suspect they're probably different.
I read somewhere that the Mormon "Prophet" walks with God and speaks
with him daily. So this is our chance to find out first hand--well
second hand, anyway--what God thinks about this war.
SO TELL US D.S. SCHEIBE, WHAT DOES GOD THINK ABOUT THIS WAR?
