Imagine What It Would Be! |
We should imagine what it would be and what it
was about! Was it about the end of the world?
Or the end of the Mosaic Covenant? What was
"ready to pass away"?
"In that He says, A NEW COVENANT, He has made
the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete
and growing old IS READY to vanish away."
- Hebrews 8:13
Imagine if you will, being a Jew back then, under
the Law, the Mosaic economy and hearing this
great news (Gospel) that it would be no more and
that the spiritual Kingdom of God (Luke 17:20-21)
would be established and that THEY would be the
ones to experience it! Of course, sadly, to them,
this meant the end of their beloved Temple and
that the desolation of it and Jerusalem, meant
"the end" that Scripture spoke of!
Matthew 24:1-2,34
1) Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple,
and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings
of the temple.
2) And Jesus said to them, Do you not see all these
things? Assuredly I say to you, not one stone shall be
left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
34) Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by
no means pass away till all these things take place.
....but they knew it had to be, to bring a better covenant!
"But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry,
by how much also he is the mediator of A BETTER
COVENANT, which was established upon BETTER
promises." - Hebrews 8:6
So while the Futurists point to the old promises,
which the Jews violated, period, the Covenant
that Jesus came to establish, was built on
BETTER PROMISES!!!
As I said, imagine that you were told that it would be YOU
who would see it, which is what THEY were told, back THEN!
Matthew 16:27-28
27) For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His
Father with His angels, and then He will reward each
according to his works.
"And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is
with Me, to give to every one according to his work."
- Revelation 22:12
28) Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here
who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man
coming in His kingdom.”
Note that Revelation 22:12 was inserted there, since no one
disputes that it is about the Judgment and look at how the
wording is identical to what Matthew records Jesus saying
to His disciples in the 1st century!
This was not the Transfiguration! That was only days later
and they were all still alive and there was no "coming with
His Father's angels", nor any "rewarding every man according
to his works"!
This was not Pentecost! That was only a short time later
and all but one were dead and there was no "coming with
His Father's angels", nor any "rewarding every man according
to his works"!
So these men got to look into what the prophets earnestly
desired to look into and were not told the full meaning of!
Remember that these texts were written in the 1st century!
"Which in OTHER AGES was not made known unto the sons
of men, as it is NOW revealed unto his holy apostles and
prophets by the Spirit." - Ephesians 3:5
Keep remembering that this was written in the 1st century
and that the word "you" does not mean, "you in the
21st century"! Peter is writing to specific people and
saying this TO THEM! And so, the phrase, "unto us",
does not mean, "us today in the 21st century", Peter
is saying they and he!
1 Peter 1:9-12
9) Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation
of your souls.
10) Of which salvation the prophets have inquired
and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace
that should come unto YOU:
11) Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit
of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified
beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that
should follow.
12) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves,
but UNTO US they did minister the things, which are now
reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel
unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven;
which things the angels desire to look into.
Both Paul and Peter were saying that it was their generation
that was blessed with the revealing of the mysteries of God!
"Now to him that is of power to establish you according
to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according
to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret
since the world began, but now is made manifest..."
- Romans 16:25-26a
For anyone to read that and think as the Futurists do,
that Paul was saying, "We're ignorant of it and this
really means Dispy's in the 21st century", is just plain
flat out ego!!!
The Kingdom is here! Jesus rules as Lord right now!

We should imagine what it would be and what it
was about!
And that's exactly what Preterism does...imagines what it
wants the Bible to be about. That's all you can do, because
the prophecies of Revelation 4-20 have not been fulfilled yet.
We are not now living in the new heavens and earth, where
there is no more sin, death, sorrow, etc. Preterism is a lie
from your imagination.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself
up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every
thought to make it obedient to Christ. ? 2 Corinthians 10:5
Christ died for our sins, and God raised Him from the dead.
Rely on this work alone to escape hell and receive eternal
life (Jn. 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:1-3; Eph. 2:8-10; 2 Thess. 1:8-9).
