Being one of "the bible believers" myself, I can testify to this
historical truth about Christian Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and
Pentecostals in America today: They are in spiritual oneness with
George W. Bush even though they know his heart, from which the
following words flow through his mouth; and even though Jesus Christ
has "said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into
the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this
defileth a man" (Matthew 15:10-11):

a guy named "hp opus" got a little upset with me when I claimed that
George Bush was a devout Christian. Here is his response posted again
for your reading pleasure. Opus has some great references at the
bottom of the post. Its a recommended read but the contriversy is
high as to whether or not President Bush behaves "like a Christian
should"

I don't know what definition you go by, nightsky. According to the
word of God, however, "a Christian" is a person who remembers Jesus
always and receives daily the good news of salvation from His
crucifixion, burial and resurrection, with a heart of repentance,
faith, obedience, service, love and joyful endurance. The supposedly
"Christian" testimony of George W. Bush, on the other hand, goes as
follows and it's all on public record (so you can just imagine what
his record in heaven will look like!):

but faith often inspires compassion. Human beings can love without
faith, but faith is a great teacher of love. ...Faith is also
important to the civility of our country. It teaches us not merely to

democracy. It is also the proper way to treat human beings created
