Is it simply Fundamentalist "hate" that denies that Muslims worship the same God
as Christians?
Saturday November 22, 2003
WASHINGTON - Evangelical Christian leaders expressed dismay yesterday over
President Bush's statement that Christians and Muslims worship the same God,
saying it had caused discomfort within his conservative religious base.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2001798343_bushgod22.html
Our Methodist Book of Resolutions seems to imply that the God of Islam is the
God of Christianity like the God of Judaism. Course, we Christians believe we
have the 'correct' revelation via Jesus Christ. Ditto for those of Islam and
Judaism.
The December 2001 issue of National Geographic is titled "Abraham - Father of
Three Faiths".
Anyone who would just do some cursory study can see that the foundation of all
three of these faiths have common ground.
So, can we just assume that this "fundamentalist claim" is nothing but a
outright showing of their hate, prejudice, bigotry, and inherent dislike for
people that are different than they are?
Perhaps, Fundamentalist like these ought to note that Jesus is most revered in
Christianity and Islam but not at all in Judaism. Yet they want to vilify
anything associated with Arabs. Perhaps this hatred and bigotry of Arabs is
long seated in secular events because of OIL and has polluted our Religion.
Didn't Jesus reprimand the ancient Pharisees because they held their
'traditions' above the Word of God?

I used to think that Muslims worship the same God as Christians, but not
anymore. Among other things, here is one of them. The Islamic paradise is
one big fuckhouse. Each Muslim (man) is provided with 72 young and fair
female virgins of surpassing beauty and 28 young prebuscent boys without a
blemish for their enjoyment. You will have the virility of 30 men. You don't
have to worry about your ex wife as they will be nowhere to be found. You
can have all the *****,oops, sorry, I mean fun that you never had on earth.
Rivers of wine and honey flow through paradise. Fruit trees abound for the
picking. Perhaps after reading this, you would rush out to the nearest
Mosque to become a Muslim.

See http://www.citizensoldier.org/72virgins.html
Perhaps the 72 virgins thing is an allegory illustrating what Heaven will be
like.
The above website implies that this is from the Hadith - not the Koran.
Wild allegations are found in Judaism and Christianity too.

have the 'correct' revelation via Jesus Christ. Ditto for those of
Islam and
Judaism.
The December 2001 issue of National Geographic is titled "Abraham -
Father of
Three Faiths".
Anyone who would just do some cursory study can see that the foundation
of all
three of these faiths have common ground.
So, can we just assume that this "fundamentalist claim" is nothing but a
outright showing of their hate, prejudice, bigotry, and inherent dislike
for
people that are different than they are?
Perhaps, Fundamentalist like these ought to note that Jesus is most
revered in
Christianity and Islam but not at all in Judaism. Yet they want to
vilify
anything associated with Arabs. Perhaps this hatred and bigotry of
Arabs is
long seated in secular events because of OIL and has polluted our
Religion.
Didn't Jesus reprimand the ancient Pharisees because they held their
'traditions' above the Word of God?

Part of it is just self-inflicted bad PR -- Muslims often insist on
using the Arabic word "Allah" in place of the ordinary word for "God"
in non-Arabic languages (and not merely as a supplemental epithet
accompanying the ordinary word for "God", as Christian "Lord" is used
for example).

Not even Christians do all "worship the same God".
"GOD" is a HUMAN IDEA.
Scratch the surface and you find as many different ideas of
"GOD" as there are sects and denominations.
More than that: since each believer is a unique individual,
there are as many "GODS" as there are believers.
It just so happens that they use the same word for designate
their private deities.

So what is wrong with calling God "Allah"?
Many Christians in the Middle East use "Allah" to refer to God.
Perhaps its more our bigotry toward Arabs and Arab Culture that makes the word
"Allah" offensive.

There's nothing necessarily "wrong" with this practice in the abstract,
but one real-world result is that many non-Muslims who don't know any
Arabic will end up having a vague impression that this "Allah" that
they hear Muslims talking about is different from the "God" whom they

The difference between you and me, Caffey-baby is that you go around
posting messages such as "When the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is
fully understood, who would even want to be called a Jew .... ?" --
see link http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=ZKUAa.381%24Rm2.24349%40eagle.america.net --
while I _DON'T_ go around posting messages with titles such as "When
9/11 is fully understood, who would even want to be called a
Muslim/Arab?" or whatever. I also don't go around telling Muslims
that their religion has been theologically invalidated.
Just look at the difference between our pseudonyms -- you chose the
pseudonym "Caiaphas" for the sole and exclusive purpose of expressing
your bigotry and "odium theoligcum" against Jews, while my alias
doesn't express any religious or political opinion.
All you seem to do is consistently paint Arabs as evil and Israelis
as holy.
No I don't -- I don't believe that, and I don't say that. What I do
say very freely and without any hesitation is that I'll have a lot
more sympathy for Arabs once they start getting their own act
together, and stop blaming all their problems on others.

So what is wrong with calling God "Allah"?
This is what is wrong with it. Allah of the Qu'ran does not exist and is a
false god.
The description of Allah in the Qu'ran is very different from the
description of God in the Bible.
Examples:
Allah
Unknowable: Allah is so transcendent, so exalted, that no man can ever
personally know Allah.
Nonpersonal: Allah is not to be understood as a person. This would lower him
to the level of man.
Nonspirit: The idea that Allah is a person or a spirit is considered
blasphemous and demeans the exalted One.
Unitarian: The Koran specifically denies that Allah is a father, that Jesus
is the Son of God and the Holy Spirit is God.
Unlimited: The Koran describes Allah as able to do anything, anytime,
anyplace, anywhere. He is not even limited by his own nature.
Capricious: Allah in the Koran is totally capricious and untrustworthy. He
is not bound by his nature or his word.
No Love: The concept of Allah having feelings toward man is foreign to
Islamic teaching. That would reduce Allah to a mere man and is blasphemous
to a Muslim.
Passive in history: Allah does not personally enter into human history. He
deals with the world through his word, prophets, and angels. He does not
personally deal with man.
No attributes: The so-called 99 attributes of Allah are all negative, what
he is not like. No positive attributes are listed.
Works: There is no savior or intercessor or concept of grace in the Koran.
Jehovah - the true God of the Bible
Knowable: Jesus Christ came into the world so we could know God personally
(John 17:3).
Personal: The God of the Bible is spoken of as a person with intellect,
emotion, and a will.
Spirit: That God is a spirit was taught by Jesus Christ himself in John
4:24.
Trinitarian: The Bible reveals God as One in three persons, the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit. All share equally the divine nature.
Limited: The biblical God is limited by His own nature. He cannot lie or
contradict Himself.
Trustworthy: Because God is always true to His nature, he is completely
trustworthy and consistent.
Love: The biblical God's chief attribute is love as shown in such places as
John 3:16. He has feelings for his creatures, especially man.
Active in history: In the incarnation, God himself enters history and acts
to bring about man's salvation.
Attributes: The Bible gives us both positive and negative attributes.
Grace: The God of the Bible provides a free salvation for man through a
Savior who acts as an intercessor between God and Man (1 Timothy 2:5).
Also the muslim is not sure that he will go to heaven. The doctrine of
having to earn your salvation by good works, in Islam, leaves the muslim
always uncertain that his good works out weigh his bad works. The muslim is
not certain he will go to heaven and thinks he might go to hell. The only
(false) certainty that a muslim falsely thinks he has of going to heaven is
if he dies in a Jihad holy war. All of this is false religious teaching.

Your examples re-interpret the Old Testament view of God in terms of the
New Testament. The Old Testament pictures God in much the same way as the
Koran. And because of this, the Jews also reject as blasphemy the notion of
God having a "son", except in the spiritual sense in which we are all sons
of God. And by the way, God was never called "Jehovah" this is an
orthographic monstrosity created when the AV translators mingled the vowel
pointers which were there to remind readers to say "Adoni" instead of
pronouncing the name of God, "YHVH".
