Jesus says: The Father and I are one, p2 |
Continuing the context from p1:
"I and the Father are one. The Jews took up stones again to stone him.
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from the
Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered
him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because
that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, Is it
not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? If he called them gods,
unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),
say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,
Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am [the] Son of God? If I do not
the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do them, though ye
believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and understand
that the Father is in me, and I in the Father. They sought again to
take him: and he went forth out of their hand." (John 10:30-39 ASV)
1. The Jews are angered and picked up stones to kill Jesus.
2. Jesus asks them which of his good works they were stoning him over
3. The miracles, good works of course authenticate his claim.
4. The Jews answer "thou, being a man, makest thyself God"
a. Jews were present and spoke the language and understood
b. The Jews clearly understood Jesus to claim he was God.
c. Jesus did not deny their charge nor correct them.
d. John did not indicate the Jews were wrong and clarify as he
did in John 2:19-21 when Jews mistook a building for his body.
5. Jesus emphasizes their guilt by quoting Psalms 82:6 "I said, 'Ye
are gods"? {Does Jesus equate himself to these "gods"? NO!]
"Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are
gods? If he called them gods, UNTO WHOM THE WORD OF GOD CAME and the
scripture cannot be broken), say ye of HIM, WHOM THE FATHER SANCTIFIED
AND SENT into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am [the]
Son of God?"
Jesus identifies these in Psalms 82:6 as mortals, humans: "unto whom
the word of God came"; and scripture cannot be proved false, broken.
Jesus then describes Himself *in contrast* to the humans, by saying:
"him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world" thou accuse
of blashemy??? Then we return to the works of Jesus, which prove who
he is: "If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not", Yet, the
obdurate Jews, haters of Jesus the Christ, "sought again to take him".
Repeating, Jesus showed himself far superior to those humans to whom
the word came; and claimed equality with God the Father: "The Father
and I are one"

....
Continuing the context from p1:
"I and the Father are one.
In Mark 13: 32 Jesus says -
32"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor
the Son, but only the Father.
If as our resident idiot Gaius says, Jesus and God are one, how come the Son
does not know the time, but only the Father knows??
It's simple!! If Jesus does not know the time, and God does, then they
cannot be the same person!!
Or you can play word games with Gaius!!
Smile.

The writer of "John" was not only a fraud who abused the name of the
disciple as the author of his "Gospel" he was also an appalling antisemite
Racism in Christianity comes primarily from Paul and John
And it is time it was cleansed from the faith by proper re-education of
congregations by priests who are WELL AWARE of this problem
