Anti-Racist Links
Instead of being another low-life television sheep, do something positive
with your life and start preaching against racism, intolerance, homophobia,
poverty and other forms of discrimination which are immoral and now illegal
under the UN charter. If this is your first time reading this, welcome to
Ahn Fyuh Wi Dizayah's list of Anti-Racist Links and Resources.
Anti-Racist Organizations
* People For the American Way

Unionists, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Labor
Council for Latin American Advancement, the League of United Latin American
Citizens, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the NAACP National
Voter Fund, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the
National Council on Black Civic Participation, the National Council of La
Raza, the National Newspaper Publishers Association, the National Hispanic

* Anti-Racist Action
Anti-Racist Action is an international movement of people dedicated to
stopping racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry from harming
our communities. We work hard to "expose, oppose, and confront" hate in
whatever form threatens the diversity and safety of the places we live in
and the people we live with. We also firmly believe in building a fun,
diverse, liberated and explicitly anti-racist, anti-sexist and
anti-homophobic youth culture. ARA intends to do the hard work necessary to
build a broad, strong movement against racism, sexism, anti-Semitism,
homophobia, discrimination against the disabled, the oldest, the youngest
and the most oppressed people. We want a classless society. WE INTEND TO
WIN!

* Colours of Resistance
Colours of Resistance (COR) is a grassroots network of people who
consciously work to develop anti-racist, multiracial politics in the
movement against global capitalism. We are committed to helping build an
anti-racist, anti-imperialist, multiracial, feminist, queer and trans
liberationist, anti-authoritarian movement against global capitalism. We are
committed to integrating an anti-oppression framework and analysis into all
of our work. This means working locally on issues such as anti-war, police
brutality, prison abolition, indigenous solidarity, affordable housing,
healthcare and public transportation, environmental justice, racist
immigration policies, and many more.

* One People's Project
AN online resource for those on the frontlines fighting fascism - Especially
those who don't play nice! How the One People's Project Began, July 4, 2000,
Morristown, NJ: "The people across the street (from a Nationalist, racist
speaker) won. His message did not get out. You could not hear him." - Morris
County Sheriff Edward Roachford. We are a collection of people across the
country and in Canada the UK that are active in gathering that information
about any and all persons involved in racist/right-wing activity. In order
to facilitate the effort against racism and hatemongering, you can help
collect that information. We do recognize however that going to law
enforcement is not a favorable approach for some people as law enforcement
has had a history of oppression (and right-wing activity) themselves. We
hope this helps in getting more people involved in fighting the real war
against terrorism. We will not argue with these jerkoffs anymore. Now we
stop them.

* Antiracist Station
Coloured folk." "Those types." "Your people." We all use terms that are
offensive and demeaning to groups of people. We throw around loaded terms
like "race" without really thinking about what we mean or how valid they
are. A big part of being against hate is being big enough to look at how
you think and what you say. Because some terms and phrases are demeaning to
people, and don't make you look very positive when you use them, either! By
improving your knowledge of immigration, multiculturalism, racism, sexism,
and homophobia, or by learning how to communicate better with people from
other cultures, you improve yourself and make yourself a better fighter in
the struggle against hate.

* Northeast Federation
The Northeastern Federation of Anarcho-Communists is an organization of
revolutionaries coming from different movements of resistance who identify
with the communist tradition within anarchism. The federation's activities
are organized around theoretical development, anarchist propaganda, and
intervention in the struggle of our class, be it autonomously or by direct
involvement in social movements. As anarcho-communists we struggle for a
classless and non-hierarchical society. Exploitation and oppression are also
expressed through social inequalities and hierarchies based on race and
ethnic origin. Like patriarchy, this form of social oppression is used to
divide and weaken the working class and must be opposed at every level.

* Southern Poverty Law Center
Today, the Center is internationally known for its tolerance education
programs, its legal victories against white supremacists and its tracking of
hate groups. The Center was founded by Morris Dees and Joe Levin, two local
lawyers who shared a commitment to racial equality. Staff members regularly
conduct training sessions for police, schools, and civil rights and
community groups, and they often serve as experts at hearings and
conferences. Suing for monetary damages for victims of Klan violence, the
Center was able to bankrupt several major Klan organizations and to draw
national attention to the growing threat of white supremacist activity.
Multimillion-dollar judgments against the United Klans of America and the
neo-Nazi Aryan Nations effectively put those organizations out of business.
Dees began taking controversial cases that were highly unpopular in the
white community. He filed suit to stop construction of a white university in
an Alabama city that already had a predominantly black state college. In
1969, he filed suit to integrate the all-white Montgomery YMCA.

* Tolerance.org
Daily news about groups and individuals working for tolerance and fighting
hate; Guides for adult and youth activists; Practical resources for parents
and teachers;
Entertaining and educational games for children; and Innovative tests to
help each of us uncover our hidden biases. Bias is a human condition, and
American history is rife with prejudice against groups and individuals
because of their race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or other
differences. The 20th Century saw major progress in outlawing
discrimination, and most Americans today support integrated schools and
neighborhoods. A group of people can create a moral barrier to hate. Join
the Every Victim Counts campaign in advocating for 1. Hate crime policies in
every police department; 2. Hate crime training for every law enforcement
officer; and 3. Hate crime reporting by every police department.

* Positive Youth Foundation
Racism, sexism, intolerance and violence are propagated and perpetuated by
ignorance, lack of understanding, inadequate education, and the absence of a
substantial forum for talking with, and subsequently, embracing our fellow
human beings. The Positive-Youth Foundation was founded to address issues
such as these, which undeniably initiates the separation that eventually
destroys communities. Our projects and overall outreach are aimed at
illustrating and highlighting the unbreakable correlations between the
inter-related problems of racism, intolerance, poverty, hunger,
homelessness, sex-ism, homophobia, violence, and all human rights struggles.

* Anti-Racist Action Burlington
ARA is a network of regular people, working together to solve a problem. We
intend to do the hard work necessary to decrease racism, sexism, anti-gay
bigotry, anti-Semitism, and the unfairness which is often suffered by the
disabled, the youngest, the oldest and the poorest of our people. We
confront hatemongers like the KKK and other white supremacists. Every time
they come out we want to be there. We won't stand by and watch these
terrorists recruit.

* AREC
Anti-Racist Environmental Coalition (AREC) is a grassroots network of people
who actively work to develop multiracial, anti racist, environmental justice
strategies and actions in the movement against environmental racism and
anti-racist environmental justice. AREC believes that no one can talk or
organize around environmentalism without also talking about racism and other
forms of oppression. AREC is committed to helping build an anti-racist,
anti-imperialist, anti-oppressive, multi-racial, feminist, environmental
movement that will uproot environmental racism in our communities.

* Anti-Fascism
The Radical Right excels at communications. Tactics and rhetoric that work
in one community quickly emerge in others. Radical Right groups may lose a
battle, or they may get off on the wrong organizational foot, but they won't
go away. After a Radical Right group has taken root, don't make the mistake
of assuming that because you haven't h eard from them they've gone away. It
may take them a while to get organized, but the fire that drives them won't
be dying down anytime soon.

* Norwegian Anti-Racist Center
The severity of the present situation in Norway indicates that it is
necessary to work as an organisation with clearly focused targets if acts of
racism, racial discrimination and breach of human rights are to be truly
vanquished. Polarization of diverse social groups in the Norwegian society
is a powerful phenomenon whose implications can no more be ignored. We are
used as a resource center by individuals, humanitarian organizations,
political organizations and political parties, church groups, immigrants,
teachers, social workers, students, bureaucrats, the media and concerned
groups all over Norway.

* Antifa
All people are equal... A lot of people are fighting racism & fascism. A lot
of people see racism & fascism every day but don't act. FASCISM WILL ONLY BE
DESTROYED THROUGH CLASS STRUGGLE! We are going to inherit the earth . There
is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie may blast and burn
its own world before it finally leaves the stage of history. We are not
afraid of ruins. We who ploughed the prairies and built the cities can build
again, only better next time. We carry a new world, here in our hearts. That
world is growing this minute.

* Nazism Exposed
Today, all over the world, fascists and extreme nationalists win millions of
votes on their simple racist solutions to very complex problems of the
society. In the streets, Nazi boneheads are spreading fear by using
murderous violence and terror. These fascist groups blame the cultural and
ethnic minorities for the problems in our society. These individuals, and
their political leaders, are a threat to our democracy, and to everything
that is decent. These extremist groups must be stopped!!

* Genocide.org
Genocide.org studies genocide, holocaust and democide in the context of
politics throughout history and the consequences of human ideology. Our
approach to genocide is that it is a sociological and not political event,
and thus occurs from time to time and merits academic study so that we may
understand the genocidal impulse and justifications for genocide commonly
employed by those who commit genocide.

* White Anti-Racist Community Action Network
Does one build authentic, caring, and supportive relationships with people
of color, knowing that doing so will marginaize oneself in the white
community? Or, does one seek community within the white community, knowing
that the "community" is based on a constricted set of values that, at their
heart, support racism? "Community" is a problematic thing for white
antiracists. We want it, but our culture makes it hard to achieve in a real
way.

Anti-Racist Publications
* Searchlight
Searchlight's aim is to combat racism, neo-nazism, fascism and all forms of
prejudice. It believes in achieving the broadest possible unity in the fight
against racism, neo-nazism, fascism and prejudice. Any organisation with a
genuine interest in fighting racism or fascism can come to Searchlight for
information about racist organisations and individuals and for advice on how
to deal with the problem. Searchlight has caused or helped cause the
cancellation of a number of nazi events, such as skinhead gigs and
international nazi gatherings, and continues to do so where possible.
Searchlight also supports and takes part in some broader anti-racist
demonstrations and campaigns.

* School Re-Design
Many students of color have had negative experiences in society that
undermine their self-confidence and their conception of their own ability to
succeed - and they may well have had those experiences in school. Most
disturbing is what happens when students fail to conform to the expectations
that schools have for them. In one study, 66 white student teachers each
worked with two white students and two black students. One student of each
race was identified to the teacher as gifted. The study found that the black
student who was labeled "gifted" - especially when he was male - received
less attention, less praise, less encouragement, and more criticism, than
any of the other students in the class (Rubovitz & Maehr, 1973).

* CERS Anti-Racist Toolkit
Our commitment to anti-racism informs all aspects of this institution's
policy and practice. This institution is opposed to racism in all its forms,
including stereotyping and all other types of discrimination which are based
on people's ethnicity, gender, disability, national origins, religion, class
or sexuality. This institution values the cultural and social diversity of
its staff and students and believes that such diversity enriches the working
and learning environment. This institution prohibits the use of its
facilities by those individuals or groups who wish to promote racist views
or activities.

* CASSW
Racism involves the subordination of people of colour by white people. While
an individual person may discriminate against white people or even hate
them, his or her behaviour or attitude can not be called 'racist'. S/he may
be considered prejudiced against whites and we may all agree that the person
acts unfairly and unjustly but racism requires something more than anger,
hatred or prejudice; at the very least it requires prejudice plus power. The
history of the world provides us with a long record of white people holding
power and using it to maintain that power and privilege over people of
colour, not the reverse.

* Canadian Labor Coalition

"racial discrimination plays a major role in creating and sustaining large
differences in the quality of jobs and in the economic security" of Workers
of Colour in this country.

* Canadian Race Relations Foundation
The Foundation is committed to building a national framework for the fight
against racism in Canadian society. The Canadian Race Relations Foundation
aims to help bring about a more harmonious Canada that acknowledges its
racist past, recognizes the pervasiveness of racism today, and is committed
to creating a future in which all Canadians are treated equitably.

Every race sort of hates every other as a way of keeping itself together.
Keep out the outsiders, and kill all the stupid people in each generation,
and you have a healthy nation. Zionism is the same way. It keeps Jews safe
from adulteration by outside blood.. Goyischkopf!

Title: Anti-racism: Just another name for positive, reverse racism. 31 Dec 2003 09:25:53 AM
DISCRIMINATION:
We all know that racism is a form of discrimination. The definition of
discrimination
according to http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=discrimination is:
1. The act of discriminating.
2. The ability or power to see or make fine distinctions;
discernment.
3. Treatment or consideration based on class or category
rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice: racial
discrimination; discrimination against foreigners.
RACISM:
Racism is a subset of discrimination. Any form of distiction, treatment
or consideration on the basis of race is racism. The distiction,
treatment or consideration can be good or bad. So, to be clear, racism
can be either negative or positive. Negative racism is the exclusion,
abuse or rejection of a person because of their race. Positive racism is
the inclusion, care or acceptance of a person because of their race.
FORWARD AND REVERSE DISCRIMINATION:
All forms of discrimination can be perpetrated by any person upon any
other person. When racism is perpetrated by a person upon a person of a
different race, it is forward racism. When a person perpetrates racism
upon a person of the same race, it is reverse racism.
Any organization designed to effect the distinction, treatment or
consideration of any person on the basis of race, sex etc. is
discriminatory. The KKK is a negative, forward racist organization. The
NAACP is a positive, reverse racist organization that supports negative,
forward racist legislation (i.e. Affirmative Action).
