Making a decision for Christ not offered in any gospel discourse in the Acts of the Apostles... |
such is the case with Paul's discourses as found in The Acts of the
Apostles, as he witnesses the gospel once for all delivered to the
saints.
in Acts 13:14-48 no such thing as " make a decision for Christ; "
" give your heart to Jesus; " accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior "
was ever offered to his hearers since one of the most remarkable
verses dealing with salvation concludes Paul's discourse...
" and as many as had been appointed to eternal life, believed. "
how is it then that Evangelicals offer a salvation based on man
doing something for God in order to be saved ?
the answer is simple and direct... " you do not believe because you
are not of My sheep. " Joh. 10:26
the sheep of God's pastures know only that they are saved by the
grace of God apart from good intentions towards Christ. for good
intentions as a means of obtaining grace is a works gospel. it is a
means to be as Satan has said... " you will be like God " saving
yourself... that you are your own redeemer.
with clever explanations the Evangelicals redefine faith as
emanating from man as he " puts his trust in Christ. " they certainly
do not mean that salvation is unconditional since their dogmas teach
that " there's plenty of blood out there for everyone so all you have
to do is give your heart to Jesus. "
they do not account " that none seek for God " but explain salvation
as a man in a dark room searching for the light switch." when he
finds this light switch he's saved by his own efforts, which is not
grace anymore... salvation is not the free gift of God as Eph. 2
explains.
man did it by his own efforts and now God owes him something for
taking the glory away from Christ and contributing to his own
salvation.
these will worshipers have the boast of the flesh for being more
talented than the next fellow since they're smart enough through
worldly wisdom to rely on themselves to choose Christ. a sad gospel
indeed... one which excludes all those impaired of faculties. but
this is what conditional salvation is all about... it's a salvation
for the smart only.
