taking a ***** while this was going on? Yes, the children were screaming for
help, but the ALL-POWERFUL COLD-HEARTED ***** christian god couldn't be
bothered to get off of his FAT, LAZY ***** to help them.

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (AP) -- Fire raced through a three-story row house
early Tuesday, killing five children, and authorities said they were looking
for a teenage baby sitter who was supposed to be watching them.
Neighbor Sontaya Perry, 22, said she could hear the children inside the
house screaming as the fire raged from the windows before dawn. She said she
tried to get in, but the wooden steps leading to the door were in flames.
"They were screaming, and five minutes later they stopped screaming," Perry
said.
On the street outside, two boys were begging for someone to help their
brothers and sisters, she said.
The victims, ages 3 to 7, were all found on the second floor, authorities
said. One was dead on arrival at West Penn Hospital and two others died in
the emergency room, said Stephanie Waite, a hospital spokeswoman. The
Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office said it had the bodies of a boy
and a girl.
Two other children were able to escape without injury.
Police said a teenage baby sitter was supposed to be watching the children,
who were from two families but all related, while their parents were out for
the night. The baby sitter had not been located as of late morning and
police only knew her nickname, which they didn't disclose, Police Chief Nate
Harper said.
"We have a lot of people out there working hard. ... Hopefully we'll have
answers in a short period of time," he said.
The young victims were identified as Cedano Holyfield, 4; Daekia Holyfield,
7; Dezekiah Holyfield, 3; Andre Rankin, 6; and Azquel Rankin, 5. The
Holyfield children lived in the home, authorities said. Steve Pilarski,
manager of administration at the Medical Examiner's office, said all the
children were related, but he couldn't provide details.
Tuesday morning, investigators were inside the gutted and blackened skeleton
of the home, examining what remained and trying to determine the cause of
the fire, which officials believe started on the home's second floor.
Officials said flames had been shooting from all three floors of the

See, I was with you right up to here. Clearly, the sort of hatred
expressed by the likes of SheBlewHim doesn't come simply from atheism - a
lack of belief in God. SheBlewHim clearly and proudly *hates* God - and

focused on their hatred of one particular religion that they simply don't
register the difference between, say, 'Christianity' and 'religion'.
In other words, they argue from an irrational position - regardless of
their exaggerated pride in their claimed reason and intelligence.
Unfortunately, religious types are prone to fall into the same traps, and
you fall into, or at least skirt, one or two of them yourself.
You make no distinction between those atheists who hate and attack *God*
(such as SheBlew) and those who hate and attack *Christianity* (such as
Bill M). There are even those who hate and attack religion as a whole
(SBH and Bill do this when they remember to, but infrequently enough that
I wouldn't include either of them here) - and there is no reason to
assume that such people are not *true* atheists, if angry ones. Religion
does exist; Christianity does exist - therefore hating these concepts
(while certainly destructive, as hate invariably is) doesn't contradict
the principle of non-belief in God.
And in the sentence I've quoted above, you erect one of the principle
straw-man arguments of the militant Creationist: that science is a
religion. The reasoning behind this as I see it is simple: Creationists
have long been subjected (not necessarily wrongly, in my view) to
correction, criticism and ridicule by those who cite scientific
discoveries to disprove the stories in Genesis. Science is the ultimate
threat to the literal interpretation of Genesis, because it allows us to
draw educated conclusions about how things REALLY were. And whatever
else we know or don't know, with the scientific knowledge we now have we
can be pretty confident that the world wasn't created in six days four or
six thousand years ago. Creationists have used several tactics to defend
their position. There have been some attempts to redefine the terms used
in Genesis (such as the claim that 'day' actually means 'thousand
years'), but by and large the results of these attempts have been
unsatisfactory: call it six days or six thousand years, it still doesn't
fit with what we know.
So the next best thing was to attack science. Undermine the edifice of
the scientific method and question its findings. From there, one can
equate doubt with certainty of falsehood; and once that's done, science
can no longer be trusted, it is defeated, and religion stands alone as
the source of proper Truth. But how to do it? Clearly, the conclusions
of science, based as they are on logic, reason, observation and
experiment (all pretty firm foundations) couldn't simply be contradicted.
Evidence can't simply be made to go away by denying it (although it's
amazing how many Creationists continue to try) - so the best way to make
people question the evidence is to attribute an overall agenda to
'Science' - to make 'Science' a single, cohesive body with a specific
aim. To make it, in short, into a religion. After all, if religion is
so open to attack then if Science is a religion it becomes similarly
vulnerable. So the stage was set. The comparisons were drawn up:
uniform clothing (the lab-coat wearing 'priesthood'); rigid doctrines
that can't be questioned; an overall, closed-minded and militant
objective... The inconvenient facts are ignored: that lab coats aren't
prescribed uniform in most cases - they're simply for safety and hygiene;
that scientific 'doctrine' can be - and indeed must be - constantly
questioned (that's how science WORKS); that scientists won't draw a
conclusion before they've tested everything they can possibly test, and
even then others will step in and test it again...
In conclusion: there are proclaimed 'atheists' out there driven by a
hatred stemming from something other than a simple lack of belief in God.
There are people more accurately called atheists who are driven by hate.
There are religious people out there who are bigoted, intolerant, angry
and arrogant. And still, science is NOT a religion.

You militant atheists pretty much all work from the same script.
Although viewing yourselves as "free thinkers", you all have a Party Line
you follow rather closely.
It isn't difficult to anticipate your arguments on any
given point. Most intelligent religious individuals almost always can
correctly predict what
you'll say next. Interestingly, militant atheists get much of their beliefs
about "Christianity" from liberal Christians.
They'll pejoratively label all Christians as "Fundies",
then presumptively attack liberal theological concepts
they suppose us "Fundies" subscribe to !
Nearly all militant atheists are followers of the
religion of Scientism. Their priests wear white lab
coats. Their sacramental objects are the microscope,
the telescope, and the test tube. Blasphemy is to
deny the ultimate authority of science.
But the militant atheists -the ones who have devoted
their lives to refuting Christianity- are almost like the
demons ...who believe more firmly in God's existence
than do Christians !
