Woman sexually assaulted in church

Police are seeking a man who allegedly entered a Kenosha church this
morning, brandished a knife and sexually assaulted a woman working there.

The assault happened at Bradford Community Church at 5180 8th Ave. in the
southeast Wisconsin city, according to Lt. John Morrissey of the Kenosha
Police Department.

The victim was working in the church kitchen when the assailant, a
stranger
to her, surprised her, Morrissey said. The man allegedly sexually
assaulted
the woman at knifepoint, then tied her up and fled in her car.

Police received a call of the attack at 10:13 a.m., Morrissey said.
Emergency personnel went to the church and transported the victim to
Aurora
Medical Center, Kenosha. She was at the hospital this afternoon being
treated for trauma and was expected to recover.

A short time after the church attack, police received a call from another
woman who reported a man was at her Kenosha home in violation of an order
of
protection, Morrissey said.

The man left before police arrived, but when the woman gave officers the
license plate number of the car he was driving, they realized it was the
same car stolen from the church, Morrissey said.

Police put out an alert for the missing car, a white, four-door, 2003
Honda
Accord, with Wisconsin license plates 620 EMK.

Morrissey described the suspect as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall,
weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen
wearing dark clothing. It was unknown if he was still in the Kenosha area
or
if he might be heading to Milwaukee or Chicago.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him
should not try to stop the car, but should call police, WGN-Ch. 9
reported.
