Perhaps The Oldest Terrorist Organization |
You should note that the Christian church is what an old terrorist
organization looks like. The Vatican had it's torture chambers in the basement,
they went through Europe a number of times with their papal decrees "convert or
die" approach, burning and drowning so called witches to "send a message," they
burnt witches in N. America too, decimating the native population here, and
especially in Central and S. America did they wreck the most damage.
Belief in religion is basically a sign of a rational mind that has surrendered,
out of fear, to irrationality. Just because someone can say they're not
religious, does not mean they are speaking from a mind that is free of
unresolved (christian) religious oppression either.
It takes a lot of courage and work to break those oppressive chains, unless the
ones that went before you did most of the work.

You are right in the fact that some churches did terrorists acts. A
lot of churches put restrictions, rules and regulations on people that
should not be there. Jesus was not religious but tried to show the
religious community is to please God is to have a personnal
relationship with him by being born again and to follow his
teachings. His teachings are to love your neighbor as yourself and
another teaching is to pray for those who despitefully use you. The
world would be a better place if people follow this and give respect
to each other.

And atheist nations are responsible for more death

Expand and go out into the ocean of your faith.
God doesn't do His deepest work in the shallowest
part of the water.
The world says that seeing is believing.
The Bible says that believing is seeing.
Doctrine is not Scripture.

Irrational, I concede, religion always is. Including mine.
Based on fear, religion can be, but need not. Never was fear involved in any
way in my religious life, not back then when I was a christian, not now as
an Asatruar.
I'll take it, though, that you primarily think of (US-brand) christiaNutty,
(Iran-type) Is-lame and the like. In this context you are, sadly, quite
right.
