Object: Pharisaical Law keeping verses The Law of Faith... Ro. 3:27
just as in Jesus day and as it is in this day, the arrogant boast of
Law keeping as a means to salvation is nullified by the Law of Faith.
to minister to their haughty boast they self feed on perfection sought
on the grounds of personal achievement, just as the Pharisees of old,
by evangelizing legalistic rigidness conforming to the things which no
one could possibly live by, save Jesus Christ. Gal. 3:13
these miss every verse of Paul's letter to the Galatians stressing
righteousness is by faith and not by the works of the Law.
yet, blind as they are to this fact, they insist that keeping the 10
Commandments justifies them... without faith.
it's just another boast to say ' I am self-righteous '.
the peculiar stance effaces itself in that these are quick to say they
keep the 10 Commandments... ( especially the 4th )... that is, the 10
Commandments handed down to Moses... but they make no mention of the
other over 600 Commandments God has given man to live by.
neither do they ever speak of salvation by grace alone.
it does not say in the 10 Commandments written on stone " thou shalt
not lie. " but this they studiously avoid... harping rather, that
they go to church on Saturdays. and because elect Christians go to
church on Sundays, therefore elect Christians are nothing but
hypocrite sinners.
one will notice that they never get off the subject of how great they
are in the sight of God for the single event in their lives which
makes them righteous and Christians not... and that is, they go to
their church on Saturdays.
these even go so far as to claim Rev.12:17 speaks of their
denomination... that of Ellen G. White... self proclaimed prophetess
deemed mentally incompetent a long, long time ago.
these are far outside the Law of Faith. faith does not come from Law
keeping ( Gal. 3:21 ) because faith comes from outside of man
( Eph.2:8 ) and it comes from God Himself ( Eph. 2:8 )
believing in Jesus Christ unto salvation comes from outside of man
( Acts 13:48 Joh. 6:29 ) and not by some work such as Law keeping
(1 Cor.1:30) nor by some decision of the will of man. ( Joh. 1:12,13 )
Law only points out what is sin. ( Ro. 3:20 ) by not doing what is sin
is not sanctification. the Pharisees of Jesus day missed that most
important spiritual fact as do the disciples of the Pharisees of
today.
Christian sanctification resides in Jesus Christ. ( 1 Cor 1:30;
Joh. 17:19; Php. 3:9 ) and is gotten only by faith, of which the
whole New Testament is replete.
it is written that we are to contend earnestly for :
" the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. "
( Jude 1:3 ) not ' the Law which was once for all delivered to the
saints. ' " for by the works of the law no flesh shall be
justified. ' ( Gal. 2:16 )
the disciples of the Pharisees want the elect of God to be just like
them " having no hope and without God in the world. " ( Eph. 2:12 )

" believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved "
Acts 16:31
" and as many as had been appointed to eternal life, believed."
