represented in Jewish numerals of that day and notice how much they
look like socket holes of our modern world!
As far as I can understand this mark is some sort of socket connection
from people to computers and believe John saw this outside connection.

Hey Martus.
Please accept my apology. It seems that in modern times
kabbalists (Chabad, Messianic Jews) do assign the values
500 - 900 to the final forms of the 5 Hebrew letters that have
2 forms but it is not always done. I don't think this was the
practice in John's time but could be wrong. I have never
seen this before.

I took a look at your "socket holes". Strange
interpretation. I guess it's something similiar
to seeing faces or animals in cloud shapes.
The number 666 in Hebrew can be written
many ways. The example you cited is in
error. The first character, Mem-sofit has a
value of 40. The next two are correct: Samech
= 60 and Vav = 6.
The largest single character value in this
system is 400, the value of the letter Tav.
The correct way to represent 666 normally
would be Tav (400) Resh (200) Samech (60)
and Vav (6).

Here's a theory of mine (seems plausible amoung other plausible
theories):
FOX = 666, where F=6, 0=1+5=6, and X=2+4=6.
Seems interesing applied to FOX news, and names that contain the letters
F, O, or X.

My FOXy point isnt asserting that FOX is the only way to compute the
number, or limiting it's application to the mass media. There are many
theories and applicatoins. I believe at least one will become apparent
and widely known in time to apply it properly. Dan's proposal on
multiplying the letter number by 6 produces good results but seems a
little complex for something God would want us to be able to compute
easily. Then again, I wonder about the ASCII code - using the raw
numbers rather than just processing it out as proposed previously. The
leader of Mexico is named FOX and so are many others would could rise to
power. Thus I simply don't think we've got a clear picture yet. FYI,
the pyramid on the back of the dollar contains an embedded 666 to.
Where the text on the pyramid says MDCCLXXVI (1776)... if you distribute
the letters arround 3 pyramids you get

D--C L--X V--I
= 600 + 60 + 6
The first note on this thread had a link to a picture of 666 writen in
hebrew (close to "|O0") and marveled at how it looks like a socket for
plugging oneself into a computer (cyborgs). Whatever it is, we can
expect to recognize it in the form it is given with a threat of
death/starvatoin.
Other theories may require going back to hebrew for assignment of
numbers for the letters. Maybe someone will write software for that
too.
I have to admit I will probably go and compute the ascii sum of "Bush"
real soon (w/ and w/o caps).
