The problem with the world today is sin. When you look at the world and all
the poor and hungry people you'd think it was because of lack, surely
there's just not enough to go around but that is not the case. This world is
full of riches, more than enough but these riches are horded up by the few
and the rest are left to suffer. If we took one half of all the moneys from
the top one thousand wealthiest in the world, we could stop most of the
hunger and poverty in the world today and all the while those top one
thousand wealthiest people would each one have more money than they could
spend in their lifetimes
.
No, the problem is not lack, it's sin!

The devil tempted Eve in the garden, the bible says he "Beguiled" her. He
used his powers of trickery of words to deceive her.

(Sophistry, if you will.)

But when Eve offered the fruit to Adam the Devil didn't say a word,
no, Adam choose to disobey God.

Adam sinned and sin came into our world.

God had created a world of plenty, but sin changed all that.

God, who is full of mercy, was not willing to let all of man perish in sin
so he began the long process of bringing salvation to men. He started by
raising up a people of God and giving them His law. But the law could not
save them, only show them their need for a Savior. Then when the time was
right God sent His Son into the world, Jesus Christ.

When I first came to usernet I noticed that most of posters all participated
in the same way, posting/debating, and that was pretty much it. I wanted to
try something different.

I remember when the first home movie cameras came out, we would all line up
every year for photos at the family reunion. Then one year they told us to
hold on, someone had brought a movie camera. We were all still standing
there in line and when they started filming someone said, "This is a moving
picture, move!" Nobody knew what to do so someone started waving. Next
thing you know everyone was waving. just standing there waving. To watch
those old movies now is laugh out loud funny but I think usernet is somewhat
like that.
