Object: Praying For Salvation
This is how to pray for salvation.
Anyone praying this prayer sincerely
will be placing all their trust for salvation
fully and absolutely on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Anyone who places all their trust on him
immediately passes from death to life
and is saved eternally and forever
because they are kept by him.
His Presence within them
causes them to live for him.
Anyone who then shrinks back
may be given over to a buffeting
and lose reward but never their salvation.
This prayer requires faith alone in Christ alone
with absolutely no dividing of trust between
Christ and anything else such as efforts
to repent, submit, be committed, or
baptism, church, or sacrament.
Those have their proper place,
but not as objects of faith
that cause people to trust
partly in themselves
and so not be saved
as do the counterfeit
versions of salvation
of the Protestant rebellion
against the Reformation gospel.
Because of the pervasive mind-set
of self-trust caused by the rebellion,
every point in this prayer is essential
and requires being fully persuaded
so that your trust is transferred
totally off of you onto Christ:
Lord Jesus,
I know that you are the one God with your Father,
and that by faith in you alone is our entire salvation
with no trust at all in us, our efforts, or our church.
I know that it is because the whole world is fallen
and is dead in sin and has no righteousness at all,
that you came into the world as our Substitute
to live an absolutely spotless perfect life for us
and to take our place on the cross unto death.
I know that it is by the shedding of your blood
in taking the penalty for our sins upon yourself
that you became the righteousness of God for us
so that in taking our place in the sight of God
you alone are our entire righteousness forever.
And I know that when God the Father raised you
back from the dead it showed that he accepted
your life and death for us as our eternal Substitute.
I cast myself on your mercy; all my trust is on you;
none is on me at all; my destiny is in your hands.
You alone are my righteousness and eternal life.
Thank you for your mercy and unmerited favor!
