Proof of the original sin from the Garden ! |
Proof of the original sin from the Garden !
If we are to believe the Bible, and even God, perhaps there is a door
that we can open, and realize that the story of Genesis can be proven
true.
The story of the Garden of Eden tells of how Adam and Eve were deceived
by the devil to believe that they would be like God to know The
Truth...by taking of the tree of knowledge.
Well surprisingly, the deception is still with us, for if you
understand the new definitions of half-truth, you will deduce that
Truth can LIE...the deception is still with us.
Truth can be true, but it can also lie to us, if it is part of a
greater truth...!

If truth can lie, then we could rephrase Jesus' words about the Bible at Joh
17:17 which says "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth." (NIV)
To become,
'Sanctify them by the truth; your word is a lie.'
That just doesn't sound right to many folks.
Also, in what way was Adam and Eve to "be like God"? Was it to just know the
truth? No, they certainly knew the truth about what would happen if they
disobeyed God. Eve's own words say this at Ge 3:2,3,
"2. The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the
garden,
3. but God did say, `You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the
middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"" (NIV)
Then in what way could they be like God in knowing good and bad? How is
God's knowledge of good and bad different from a human's.? It is simple. God
determines Himself what is good and what is bad. Thus by eating of that
fruit they were telling God in essence, 'I will determine for myself what is
right and what is wrong, you don't have to tell me.'
