QUESTION FOR JASON GASTRICH |
Jason,
When I asked you...
Pastor Dave: "What makes you think your web pages
equate to Scripture?"
You said the following...
Jason: "My church."
Now, "Uncle Davey" said that you couldn't have meant it
the way it came out, but if that's true, why have you
not corrected yourself, even though you are reading the
same threads in which I pointed this out a few times
now? Why wouldn't you correct yourself, unless you
meant it that way?
So now I ask you to correct yourself, if you did not
mean it that way. Your silence will be taken as an
admission that you did mean it that way and that you
believe that your web pages equate to Scripture.
I have made sure that this post goes into news groups
that I know you read, including free.christians.
The ball is in your court.

| Day 1. No answer from Jason.
He's up to day 12 or something on responding to a question about his own
post-resurrection chronology after having agreed to respond to the question.
He has conceded that point by his silence and effectively proved he lost the
debate with Sean McHugh. The bible is errant on at least the lack of
harmony between the gospel accounts per Jason's inability to respond.
Now people have to decide which gospel to believe since they don't agree
with each other.

It's a belief akin to Preterism. I suppose he is a full or partial
preterist. They believe that many or all of the prophecies were fulfilled
in the 1st century.

I believe in the Bible but I believe there is only one body of Christ and
religeons serve to seperate that body. I believe one should abide by the
word of God and not worry about religeon. They only work to seperate when
the word of God is supposed to draw people together.

Forgive my confusion, but can you explain this belief in some more detail?
In a way, this is what my church teaches. "Christianity is about a
relationship with Christ, not a religion." However, I suspect you may be
saying more than this.
You didn't say much about your theology (e.g. opinion of God's character and
purpose). I'd like to know that as well.

When you look in the Yellow pages under Churches, you'll see all the
denominations. Most of them, if not all of them teach from the Bible. Why
have all those seperations if they all teach from the Bible?
What I look for is a church that teaches the entire Bible and not just parts
of it, like just the Old Testiment. My parents made me go to a church like
that when I was a kid. Lots of Old Testiment stuff and almost no Jesus and
salvation. But if someone asks me what denomination I am, I tell them I
don't like to think of myself as having one since there is only one body of
Christ. So then they usually say "Oh, Non-Denominational" and I say "No,
not even that." See, "Non-Denominational" is a denomination in my eyes.
It's a "label.". I usually end up saying simply "Christian."
I guess Christian is the religeon I believe in and the denomination label is
what I don't like.
You didn't say much about your theology (e.g. opinion of God's character
and
purpose). I'd like to know that as well.
I really never thought about that. His purpose for being there in the first
place? Being that He is the Alpha and the Omega, what would be His purpose?
I don't know. His character? God is love. That is all I know or even want
to try to figure out at this point.

They disagree on the interpretation of different issues; most of them,
minor.

I attend a non-denominational church and have been for a long time. I agree
that it's basically a denomination of sorts. There are obviously some
beliefs that we hold dear.

Nice to meet you, Bill. What do you do? Where do you stand, theologically?
What is the link to your website that he calls slanderous lies? I

It seems he doesn't believe the rapture will happen. That's strange.
It's a belief akin to Preterism. I suppose he is a full or partial

I don't believe in the Rapture, because it isn't
Biblical. And you ran away from debating the subject,
even though I was polite to you, until you started
attacking me personally.

Actually, I never said a word to you except respond to your posts with Bible
scriptures. If you translate that as an attack, then I think you need to
rethink your stance on the Bible.
Now then shall I pull up the hateful attacks you have launched on Jason
Gastrich? I think he deserves an apology from you, especially if you claim
to represent God's word.

That's a lie. I never attacked you personally. I asked you which gospel
message you affirmed. You asked you the name of your church. I asked you
where you were ordained. I've also offered you ALL of this information

So, out with it.

Jason, he was addressing me when he said that. My "attack" was nothing more
than a quotation of Bible scriptures. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, you did and you continue to do so, even though you
have me kill filed and yet, now respond to statements
of mine that someone else quoted. You are a coward.
I asked you which gospel message you affirmed.
You asked you the name of your church. I asked you

You asked questions to avoid dealing with the points I
made, which is why you asked them in response to a
message I posted which refuted your misleading tactics
and your false beliefs.
As for what you offered, that was a fake doctorate,
given to you by a place that you never attended. It is
honorary, but you point people and potential employers
to your resume on your web site, which does not mention
that it is honorary. Yet you point your finger at me
and claim that I am being deceptive. <chuckle>

Well, let's see. The Rapture is taught by millions of
churches. There are movies about it, books about it,
web sites about it. I have studied it extensively.
But with all of that material floating around, you're
right. Chances are I don't know what it is. In fact,
chances are I've never even heard of it. <chuckle>

Yeah . . . that's what happened. More like "he blinded me with evasion." I
guess you didn't follow our brief dialogue and his evasiveness, his "rules

No, I missed the party. I've met a couple people like that though. One
flat out told me that rock music would send me to hell. I guess he didn't
realize that this is a trend and that's what some people said about jazz
music years ago.

Yes, those types are peculiar. It's ignoring the doctrine of salvation that
sends one to Hell. Secular music isn't good for you, but it isn't going to
prevent you from being able to repent and trust Christ for salvation.
