That depends on the morals and beliefs of the person feared. I see no
moral men oc christianity calling for extermination of other peoples
or the extinction of their beliefs ! Sir Arthur may have been a writer
of prominence, but he was also biased and narrow minded. Faith and
belief are personal issues, not a sword to be wielded for world
control ! Bias on the other hand, is used only for two purposes....
control and power, neither demand a standard of honesty nor do they
demonstrate such......

Matthew 5:38-39 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye,
and a tooth for a tooth: {39} But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil:
but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other
also.
James 1:26 If a man seems to have religion and has no control over his
tongue but lets himself be tricked by what is false, this man's religion
is of no value.
James 1:27 The religion which is holy and free from evil in the eyes of
our God and Father is this: to take care of children who have no fathers
and of widows who are in trouble, and to keep oneself untouched by the
world.
Psalm 37:8 Put an end to your wrath and be no longer bitter; do not
give way to angry feeling which is a cause of sin.
Psalm 37:9 For the evil-doers will be cut off: but those who have faith
in the Lord will have the earth for their heritage.
Psalm 37:10 For in a short time the evil-doer will be gone: you will go
searching for his place, and it will not be there.
Psalm 37:11 But the gentle will have the earth for their heritage; they
will take their delight in peace without measure.

I see no moral men oc christianity calling for extermination of other peoples or the extinction of their beliefs !
There are few more ignorant comments than that. Name a christian
church that doesn't have a missionary network! The goal of missionary
work is to prevent other beliefs and spread your own, period. And
throughout history it has been convert or perish - take a glance at
the indigenous of the Americas. Even today the scheme is to provide
aid but its not aid from the goodness of a heart but from the greed of
a creed. Its just a means of conversion and suppression.
A Thai convert: "They [Christian missionaries] seemed that they did
not show any interest for our culture. Why? They are just eager to
build big churches in every village. It seems that they are having two
faces; under the title of help they suppress us. To the world, they
gained their reputations as benefactors of disappearing tribes. They
built their reputations on us for many years. The way they behaved
with us seemed as if we did not know about god before they arrived
here."
[Akha Chronicles, Book 1: Maesai, Chapter 20: Missions.]
"As soon as I arrived in any heathen village, when all are baptized, I
order all the temples of their false gods to be destroyed and all the
idols to be broken to pieces. I can give you no idea of the joy I feel
in seeing this done." - Francis Xavier, a Jesuit Priest and missionary
to India.
Faith and belief are personal issues, not a sword to be wielded for world control !
Why then have so many people over so many centuries found their deaths
and torture at the christian sword (or pit, stake, whip, etc)?
"Think not that I am come to bring peace: I came not to send peace but
a sword." (Matthew 10 34) "He that hath no sword, let him sell his
garment, and buy one." (Luke 22 36)

Ignorant ? No. Speaking the truth to people that are mislead isn't
driving their beliefs to extinction, it's opening their eyes, and
no one loses their life.

Rod => Christians don't call for extinction of other's beliefs.
Missionary work is pointed out to Rod.
Rod => Converting people to christianity isn't driving their beliefs
to extinction..
No, then its what? Gobbled up and added into christianity like Mithra
and all the other pagan stories molded into the bible - thus the
original beliefs live on in christian disguise?
Rod => control and power, neither demand a standard of honesty nor do
they demonstrate such......
That is all god and the bible is about... control and power. God
ordered death for all opposition (Ex. 32:27), wholesale drowning and
mass exterminations; punished offspring to the fourth generation (Ex.
20:5); ordered babies to be smashed and pregnant women to be ripped up
(Hosea 13:16); demanded animal and human blood to appease his angry
vanity; is partial to one race of people; judged women inferior to
men; is a sadist who created a hell to torture unbelievers; created
evil (Is. 45:7); discriminated against the handicapped (Lev.
21:16-23); ordered virgins to be kept as spoils of war (Num. 31:15-18,
Deut. 21:11-14); threatened to curse people by spreading dung on their
faces (Malachi 2:3); sent bears to devour forty-two children who
teased a prophet (II Kings 2:23-24); punished people with snakes,
dogs, dragons, drunkenness, swords, arrows, axes, fire, famine, and
infanticide; and said fathers should eat their sons (Ez. 5:10).
Romans "What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power
known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to
destruction"
Proverbs 16:4:
"The Lord hath made all things for himself."x
A vain god rules by tyranny and cruelty, and you have problems with
someone looking for power and control? Or only someone real?

Rod believes in a god that sent bears to maul youths, a book of
talking animals, a book of trees bearing knowledge, but it is others
that are "putting yourself beyond the reach of reason"

Rod believes that you're trying to provoke him, and not worth the
effort of further conversation.
