Eric Brze said on Jan 4, 12:12 pm PST: the mosaic
law is an evil law...

No; "The law is holy, and the commandment holy, and
just, and good" (Rom. 7:12).

Eric said: ...that never has anything to do with
God.

Jesus taught from the law; "And Jesus answered him,
The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O
Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord, and thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with
all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all
thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the
second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. There is none other
commandment greater than these" (Mk. 12:29-31).

Andrew W said on Jan 4, 1:29 pm: God's power has
nothing to do with our interpretations skills and
ability to understand and correctly relay messages.

Not even if God wants it to?
"The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the
-Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all
things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you" (Jn. 14:26).

man was crucified in his place.

No.
"Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger,
and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and
thrust it into my side; and be not faithless, but
believing" (Jn. 20:27).

Wild Bill said on Jan 4, 2:28 pm: Always trust the
man who is searching for the truth; never trust
the man who says he has it.

We shouldn't trust Jesus? (Jn. 14:6). And if we
accept your statement as having the truth, should we
then not be trusted?

Eric Brze said on Jan 4, 4:12 pm: Instead of
lifting my head up, I'm more comfortable to bow my
head down.

"Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a
Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee
stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank
thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners,
unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast
twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I
possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would
not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but
smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me
a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his
house justified rather than the other, for every one
that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that
humbleth himself shall be exalted" (Lk. 18:10-14).

colp said on Jan 4, 5:40 pm: blood sacrifice is
neither required not desired by the Creator

Jesus' sacrifice was bloody; "For this is my blood
of the new testament, which is shed for many for
the remission of sins" (Mt. 26:28).

What if God wanted man to have free will?

'Truth' sermons

Why not? Does everybody have enough truth already?

colp said on Jan 5, 3:07 pm: Atoning human
sacrifice has never been part of orthodox Hebrew
theology.

"He was wounded for our transgressions, he was
bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our
peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are
healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, we have
turned every one to his own way, and the LORD hath
laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was
oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not
his mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he
openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and
from judgment, and who shall declare his generation?
-For he was cut off out of the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the
rich in his death, because he had done no violence,
neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased
the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief.
When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,
he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days,
and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his
hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and
shall be satisfied. By his knowledge shall my
righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear
their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a
portion with the great, and he shall divide the
spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out
his soul unto death, and he was numbered with the
transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and
made intercession for the transgressors"
(Is. 53:5-12).

She... said on Jan 5, 7:25 pm: the "ALL-LOVING"
god demands that people MURDER their only son just
to satisfy his sick, twisted need for an ego boost

Why do you think that's the reason God asked Abraham
to sacrifice Isaac? And why do you think God stopped
Abraham from doing so? "Lay not thine hand upon the
lad, neither do thou any thing unto him, for now I
know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not
withheld thy son, thine only son from me"
(Gen. 22:12).

bob young said on Jan 5, 9:03 pm [Re: The Bible];
Stars are pinpricks in the heavens.

The Bible doesn't say that.

bob said [Re: The Bible]: Rabbits chew their cud.

The Hebrew word translated "cud" isn't defined as we
define the Engligh word "cud"; the Hebrew word
simply refers to animals re-chewing food they'd
previously swallowed, which rabbits do, for they
re-chew some of their own pellets of dung.

bob said [Re: The Bible]: There is enough water to
flood the entire planet

Who says there isn't?

bob young said on Jan 5, 9:07 pm: ALL CLAIMS OF
JESUS DERIVE FROM HEARSAY

No, they derive from that "which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes, which we have
looked upon, and our hands have handled"
(1 Jn. 1:1).

Andrew W said on Jan 5, 10:01 pm: If the Bible had
truth then it would have been used to help the
world out of its problems by now.

Has the truth of the Bible been put into practice by
the world?
*******

Andrew W said on Jan 5, 11:25 pm: Paul was
traumatised by a spook on the road to Damascus so
he could have been insane

Paul really saw Jesus, as Ananias confirmed (Acts 9).
*******

Eric Brze said on Jan 5, 11:27 pm: every false god
starting from Jehovah

Jesus confirms that YHWH is God (Mk. 12:29-30).
*******

Andrew W said on Jan 5, 11:51 pm: We know a lot
more about the world and universe today than
people did centuries ago.

Do we know more today about what Jesus said and did
than His apostles and those who heard His apostles?

Therefore, you have made yourself as blind as Paul the Christian
killer, and as foolish as Abraham who was willing to kill his own son
in fear of the devil pretending to be God. Is that what you are trying
to say?

and your "loving, caring" non-jehovah god allows that to happen.

In order to teach you a lesson about the truth? yes, absolutely. When
are you going to learn?

so your go tortures people till they do what your god wants?
so you are willing to allow others to suffer in jesus name so that they
learn their lesson?
the debate recently among christians about the new drug that saves
women from cervical cancer was that to allow this new safety for women
would promote promescutity.
so torture people don't allow anyone to succeed that you personaly do
not approve of? yuck.

and your "loving, caring" non-jehovah god allows that to happen.

no followers allow this to happen, insensitive humans refuse to put a
stop to cruelty in jesus name.

In order to teach you a lesson about the truth? yes, absolutely. When

when will you learn to love all? when you will show some compassion in
this world. jesus healed people that is what jesus was famous for,
people came for miles to not be blind anymore and your answer is leave
the blind blind so that they may suffer more for god and learn lesson?
jesus says beware how we treat others, as we may find others treating
us the same the way,
in love,
