Re: 20 / 20
Anybody see 20 / 20 last night where it showed all the TV preachers just rolling
in the dough, filthy rich, owning multiple mansions, and owning jets to fly to
all the nice places in the world.
You can just imagine the stupid old lady scrimping and depriving herself and her
family so she can send these assholes money to live their lavish lifestyles.
Religion is all about usurping other's power and value, non-violently, but still
incredibly damaging.
You're a fool to give the thieves even a dime. If you are one of those thieves,
abandon that god-scam and gain happiness by creating true value for youself and
others.
Hello,
If you found one doctor to be a quack, do you stop going to all
doctors? That could end up hazardous to your health.
It is a similar thing with the religion from the Bible. Just because
those preachers claim to be Christian, doesn't automatically make them
so. They must meet the Bible's standards in order to be genuine
Christians.
For example, during wartime, do they support the war efforts of the
countries they reside in? If they do, they are disobeying their
professed leader, Jesus, who said at Mt 5:44,
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you," (NASB)
Thus, if you find that those TV preachers doing things against what
the Bible teaches, then they are false preachers and should be
ignored. God will take care of them in His due time. Their activities
were predicted long in advance. Notice below what their main
motivation is, and see if it does not fit what you say above: 2 Pe
2:1-3,
" 1. But there were also false prophets among the people, just as
there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce
destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought
them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of
truth into disrepute.
3. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they
have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and
their destruction has not been sleeping. " (NIV)
Sincerely, James

===>That is exactly the damned problem.
They DO "meet the Bible's standards".
The Bible is such a hodge-pudge of ideas, opinions, speculkations and
fantasies concocted BY MEN, that other men, such as those preachers
can DECIDE and preach to gullible, mindless masses just WHAT "meets
the Bible's standards."
That is why you have THOUSANDS of sects and denominations, each claiming
to "meet the Bible's standards".
The LAW OF SECTS applies:
FOR EVERY SECTARIAN DOCTRINE THERE IS AND EQUAL AND OPPOSITE SECTARIAN
DOCTRINE -- EACH CLAIMED TO BE BASED ON THE BIBLE AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.
If you want to get rich on the credulous gullibility of unthinking
"believers", just piuck a few verses from anywhere in the Bible and
declare it the "Word of God".
For example, during wartime, do they support the war efforts of the
countries they reside in? If they do, they are disobeying their
professed leader, Jesus, who said at Mt 5:44,

===>You are a good example of what I am talking about.
The same "Jesus" is made to say lots of other things by the
authors of those fictional "Gospel" stories.
"But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them,
bring them here and slay them in my presence." Luke 19:27
"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to
bring peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34
"If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and
wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life,
he cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:26
etc., etc.
Those phony preachers are every bit as "Bible based" Christians as
you are. -- L.

Hello James:
I know that you won't read this because you only post, and do not read
or discuss on this board, but your preaching deserves a response.
It only stands to reason that the one and only standard for being a
bible preacher is ***understanding the bible***, but with bible
preachers being divided into thousands of doctrinally disagreeing
churches, denominations, sects, and cults, it is pretty obvious that
the likelyhood that any preacher understands the bible well enough to
preach it, is absolutely remote.
Preachers do not preach the bible, they simply preach the doctrines
that their organizations have added to the pagan doctrines of the
Nicean creed.
Rather than preach about how one's own organization's preachers are
the only correct ones, I think it would be better to discuss the bible
publicly, to see who's understanding of the bible makes the most sense.
