History, doesn't agree, when any religion takes control, what is, in this
case, "true Christianity" will become the question, and once decided, look
out 'heritics'

Here is a link to an article I wrote many years ago, and never published,

and have just found and placed on my website:

<http://www.seangabb.co.uk/pamphlet/christ.htm>
It asks what sort of government is most consistent with the Christian

faith. My answer is that such a government should be very limited - indeed
generally libertarian.

A longer exposition of the same case can be found at :

The thing that has never made sense to me is that if being a Christian
means putting your faith in the master plan that God has for you, then
why do so many people who call themselves Christians immediately set
off to take control of a world they claim to be relinquishing to God's
control?
My only conclusion is that these people do not believe that God is in
control. These people are liars and are not Christians at all but
Charlatans who are using other people's faith for their own evil
manipulative purposes.
Perhaps we should arrest and execute anyone in government who uses the
word 'heretic' in order to protect the public safety?

This is a good question.

My only conclusion is that these people do not believe that God is in
control. These people are liars and are not Christians at all but
Charlatans who are using other people's faith for their own evil
manipulative purposes.

If this is your only conclusion then I don't see you as any more enlightened
than those you criticize. Why must you ascribe evil purpose to people
trying to justify their own beliefs by getting others to accept them. This
is a basic insecurity found in most belief systems, whether they be
religious or political ideologies. It is faulty logic and reasoning in
either case, but to assume evil purpose is simply showing your intolerance.

Perhaps we should arrest and execute anyone in government who uses the
word 'heretic' in order to protect the public safety?

And this would make us safe from lunatics and fanatics? When exactly have
you heard someone in government use this language, anyway? Do you have some
coherent point in all of this?

you here
