That's what is taught in the Bible -- the original one.

Ecclesiastes:
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might;
for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol,
to which you are going"

(Sheol means "the grave", not "hell")

Gosh, Rob, we all need something uplifting after that
verse :-)

Try: John 14

I'm sorry, but Ecclesiastes is part of the "Judeo-Christian"
Bible. John isn't.

Most of 'John' is from a completely alien religion altogether.
non-Abrahamic.

"Being with God"

how can the creator separate from himself to create a creation ...?

Ah, that's much better than the verse you
quoted above about Sheol!

The verse about Sheol is the Biblical teaching
about life and death. It's not really depressing.
The part you ignored said live life to its
fullest, which is a very positive message.

getting a Christian to understand the meaning of `sheol` or `shachat`
or `mashiyach` or `satan` or any of the source is impossible.
either they obtain the source text and study it to the point of
comprehension -- by which time they automatically cease 'believing' --
or they continue in the ignorant lies (and deliberate lies) taught to
them by their ignorant (and sometimes not so ignorant) teachers.
incidentally, sepher qohelet -- along with the agur section of
`mishlei` and `sepher iyov` [with the Elihu insertion deleted], are
works of genius, hardly rivalled to this day.
