BE NOT SOON SHAKEN IN MIND, OR BE TROUBLED
A QUESTION
Consider the complete statement, in context:
Considering that Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, saying
"That Ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit,
nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at
hand.
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called
God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of
God, shewing himself that he is God.( 2 Thes 2:2-4)
That Day was NOT at hand for the First Century Christians, therefore there
was no cause for them to be concerned that the Day of The Lord would come
soon.
First;
Can you demonstrate that Satan has seated himself on the throne of God and
claimed to BE "God," that this event is past, and therefore there remains
no prophecy to be fulfilled before the Lord's return?
Second;
Considering the use of our 20/20 hindsight, we can now state absolutely
that "That Day" did not occur in their generation --
however, would you then say that "That Day" will "be at hand" for that
generation which witnesses Satan exalt himself as "God"?
When Satan has exalted himself as "God" will warning Christians that THAT
DAY _is_ at hand then "be troubling them"?
