Christ vs Evolution
There are some very great differences between what the Lord Jesus
Christ taught versus what Darwin's evolutionary religion teaches:
Not surprising
One taught theolgy and the other was a biologist.
Darwin would have looked just as silly walking on water as Jesus would
have looked staring knowledgeably at a placenta.
Mind you they might both have learnt something
Hello,
Jesus believed in creation not evolution (Mt 19:4), thus there would
have been no knowledge of it to tell others anyway. Also Jesus did
believe the Bible of his day contained words of truth. (Joh 17:17) So
if Jesus believed the Bible was truth, did Jesus believe the earth was
only 6 or 7 thousand years old? Notice the information in my reply to
the poster, Lee, and see if it makes sense to you:
"Yes, you run up into 'The Great Wall of Science' if people try to
make the claim that the Bible says the earth and universe were created
only 6 or 7 thousand years ago. Science can conclusively disprove
that, not just through one discipline such as geology, but through
many.
But does the Bible really teach that? If you are a scientific person,
then you no doubt will want to see proof. So I will show it to you.
Here is the first time in the Bible that it discusses the creation of
the earth and universe. Ge 1:1,
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (KJV)
Did it say, 'Several thousand years ago, God created.....'? No, it
doesn't give us a clue as to when (or even how long) it took God to
create those things. It just tells us categorically that all of that
stuff just didn't pop into existence on its own, but that a great
intelligence (God) created it.
So starting with verse 3 onward, we now have the already created sun
of verse 1 shining brightly, as well as the raw earth of vs 1,2. These
next set of verses tell us some of the steps that God did to that raw
earth of vs 1,2, in order to get it ready to harbor life. (if you
build a house, you don't immediately start living in it when the last
brick is laid, do you? Rather you have many things to do to it, to get
it ready to live in-- such as put in the furniture etc. And that is a
similar thing that God did with the raw earth of vs 1,2)
If you study all those following verses (3 onward), you can come up
with computing some dates, such as when humans were created. But those
dates have NOTHING to do with when the universe and earth were
created. The Bible is silent on that matter as vs 1,2 shows.
(But some people wonder, well if the earth and sun were created in vs
1, then why was the earth in darkness- vs 2? More on that if you wish)
So in conclusion, if scientists say the earth and universe are
billions of years old, the Bible has no problem with such figures,
because it doesn't say one way or another how old such things are.
I hope this has you to see what the Bible really teaches on this
matter.
Sincerely, James

===>Actually, it say"WHEN the ELOHIM began to create..."
The formless watery mass was assumed to have been already present.

===>That is just your false interpretation of an ancient fable.
E.g. you ignore that FACT that the story says the stars, the sun and
moon ("big lights") were NOT made until several "evening and morning",
i.e. 24e-hr days LATER and were affixed to the solid sky dome above.
In that cosmology this was the entire "world" (universe).
Regarding evolution, it is a FACT, explained in part by Darwin's theory
of NATURAL SELECTION. The theory was based on extensive scientific
OBSERVATION. It is SCIENCE, not "religion". Like the creatrion story,
"Lord Jesus Christ" is also FICTION of a religion,
the CHRISTOS CULT. -- L.
