\>Re: Christian
I'm not convinced that a test for whether someone is a Christian or not
should include reference to what one thinks is the nature of the Trinity.
Why should it be a test for whether one is a Christian?
What do you mean, or what are the implications of being classified as not
being a Christian?
Hello,
What is a Buddhist? Is it not basically a person who believes and
follows the teachings of Buddha? It is similar with being a
"Christian". A genuine Christian is a person who believes and FOLLOWS
the teachings of Jesus.
Anyone can claim to be a "Christian", but they must obey Jesus'
commands to be a real one. Lu 6:46,
"Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" (NIV)
For example, Jesus said this at Mt 5:44,
"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you," (NIV)
Now recall all of the professed Christians (and even professed
Christian nations) who have shown "love" to their enemies by spilling
their blood on the battle fields of the world etc.
Yes, genuine Christians believe in Jesus AND do what he says. That is
the definition of a true Christian, as this dictionary shows:
"Christian...a person who believes in Christ and follows His
teachings;" (The World Book Encyclopedia Dictionary)
Sincerely, James
