I have to disagree on that. With all the violence in the world due to
religion its time for an attempt to at least minimize religious influence
and belief. Thank goodness people didn't just give up on other scientific
viewpoints and just said we will just let people believe what they want to
believe. We would still be technically in prehistoric times. I do believe
atheist/agnostic teachings do have some influence, especially when taught at
a young age. Its time to rattle superstitious peoples chains and make this
world a better place. Superstition has no place in a scientific world.

I dunno. I have a friend, a fellow US-retiree in the RP, who has
lately gotten religion in a big way. He disbelieves evolution,
espouses creationism, the whole bit. I can't buy it, but I don't want
to waste my time in debating it with him. As far as I am concerned,
he is welcome to his beliefs - whatever they might be - so long as he
does not try to shove them down my throat. So far, he is managing to
hold his evangelical urges in check as far as I am concerned, thank
God (oops).
