I have to disagree on that. With all the violence in the world due to
religion its time for an attempt to at least minimize religious influence
and belief.
This is a really stupid comment!!!
The Communists who didn't believe in any God murdered more than all of
the religions combined!
Its time to rattle superstitious peoples chains and make this
world a better place. Superstition has no place in a scientific world.
Yes let's get all of you ignorant crossposting morons to stay in their

Knock Knock! Fact: There is a lot of violence happening in the world today
because of religion.
I think very few people would deny this. If you do then I guess something
is broken :-)
Question: Why would God not tell people he exists, when all other religions
of the world also have some excuse why he can't show himself? Wouldn't God
be an idiot to follow all the other man made religions and then expect you
follow just based on faith? 99% of people are just following their religion
because they happened to be born in the place it was predominate in. God
would be pretty much be a ***** head to treat people any different just
because they happen to be born in the wrong place.

There is truth to what you are saying.
Theologically, the Christian faith is not supposed to be a religion but a
relationship between human and God. Sadly that many pious people turns it
into a religion which defeats the purpose of the relationship.
Also the Harvard University historical department has written a journal
about wars in the name of the Christian religion. The state that an
approximate of 3.5 million has been killed in the 2000 years. Give or take
a million for the sake of tolerance.
That is a horrifying figure but you compares that to Nitchie's philophesy
(which was the inception of Nazism) 6 million Jews in a period of 10-years.
What about the millions that were killed in the name of Socialiam or
Communism in labour camps that were untold of.
Not to mention thousands of people in New York from all sorts of religion
killed in the name of Allah withinin hours and hundreds again in Bali also
in the name of Allah.
Christianity may have its flaws (being human) but it certainly tries to
better the world as history shows that some of the first hospitals and
schools were developed by Christians. The Salvation Army that picks up the
dreds of soceity that you kindly push away is also a Christian organisation.
The red cross (them developed the red crescent) also has its Chjristian
roots.
There are certainly two sides to every coin.

FACT the vast majority of violence on this planet has nothing to do
with religion DUH!!!! And the vast amount of deaths via war and
oppresion was due to those who professed that there was no God DUH!
And you'd have to be a complete moron to deny that! What's broken is

Don't agree. I consider communism a joke that can never be
truly workable, and a pipedream for naive academics and
deluded desperate people, but to say a method of govt is
responsible for deaths rather than blaming those wielding
that method (who are just as likely to have done so under
any other method of govt) is wrong.
Religion on the other hand has been responsible for so much
death and hatred since the day dot that the original poster
is dead on the mark. Screw religion, we've all seen what
it's done to the world, and I'd be happy to see it ended. No
fairy tales should ever cause that much death and misery,
but that's exactly what religion has done to the world.
It would've been so much better if the human imagination had
never been capable of inventing arsehole deities.

Agreed, this thread was posted way too wide and far, but as
the original poster has already messed up by doing so
nothing is going to stop the replies (as you yourself have
demonstrated). Live with it, ignore the thread or if you're
really keen make a complaint about the original poster. I
hate the initiation of crossposted threads as much as anyone
else, but it's a fact of usenet life that we can't do much
about.
