Is this the "Christian love" Pastor Marc is talking about?

recall that ever happening before now. I feel noticed!
But I have to say that this newsgroup is not the best one to have this
discussion. This is a boxing newsgroup. It's not good netiquette for me to

I'll try to write when I can, I'm working on a doctorate and I have two
services a week, plus a congregation of 240 members to minister to, all of
whom seem to show less hostility toward metaphysics and religion as you
do.

I already answered it in the Marciano Neanderthal thread.
To make a long story short, there are hypocrites in every area of life, and
the Christian religion has had more than its share. Yet the truth claims of
Christianity cannot be dismissed because of the moral laxity of its
adherents. Truth is truth whether or not people do dumb things in the name
of it. To bring the subject back to boxing, Muhammad Ali was a womanizer and
an adulterer in the 1970's by his own admission. Does this mean that the
whole religion of Islam is proven false because of his behavior? Come on! If
it's not true for Islam, then why should it be true for Christianity? If a
religion is to be proved false then you must deal with the documents and the
founders of that said faith.
That's what I can't seem to get Prof Marvel to see and why we cannot have
dialogue. He is a postmodernist and postmoderns tend to play footloose and
fancy free with hard data.

Evolution undermines the story of Genesis. Creationists, like Pastor
Marc, have no problem with airplanes, antibiotics, flush toilets nor
would they have any problem with the Theory of Evolution were it not in
direct opposition to Adam and Eve.
Adam and Even is not just an article of faith, it is the foundation of
the Bible. Remove it and the entire building crumbles -- every Bible
story that follows unravels.
But science continues to catch-up with the Bible; it continues to debunk
the Bible. A thousand years ago priests burned scientists at the stake
or locked them up. That's what they did to Copernicus and Galileo for
saying the Earth revolves around the Sun. Today they fall back on
metaphysics -- they defend Genesis with junk science.
Nobody, however, should mistake this for valid scientific discourse.
Priests, shaman, witch doctors, medicine men, mullahs, ayatollahs, Grand
Inquisitors, the judges at Salem always gave the accused the opportunity
to debate before murdering them.
