nnalyd@yahoo.com says...
There is no 'god'. No 'god' of the bible.
There is God and he's the God of the Bible. See how easy statements can
be.
You can believe anything you like. However, when people talk about
'god' - it is anyone's guess which god you are talking about.
THE god of the bible, or the god in your head, or my head, etc.
I know everyone has their own idea of god, etc --- that's probably
why it is so difficult to stay on track, when talking about god...
People can only quote scripture - which doesn't mean anything.
That is no proof at all. They are only 'claims'.
People have also offered the teleological argumens which has yet to be
answered. There is a non-circular argument regarding fulfilled
prophecy- history written in advance- that does prove God or atleast
somethung beyond human. Care to hear it? Wouldn't it matter to you?
Can you cite anything in modern times or even today, which illustrate
your point? Actual events?
Which part of my post are you referring to?
The argument about Satan versus God is merely a theoretical one.
okay, fair enough.
People use those sort of arguments to escape self responsibility.
How presumptuous of you. What if I said your lack of belief in a god is
used to escape accountability?
We are all subject to our own actions.
Tell that to the Tsunami victims
The tsunami is a special case. To discuss why so many people died,
etc would probably take a great deal of effort to realise what did
happen then...
You can't say - Satan made me do it.
Or God.
Although you can't prove it it is just as vaild as saying the opposite.
For the record, Satan cannot force anybody to do anything.
God doesn't allow wickedness.
That is rather stupid when you think about it?
LOL. How do you figure? If there's an all powerful God then he has the
ability to prevent it (a priori). If such a God exists he could have a
reason for not stopping it, no?
If you presume that I think I know a lot about god, etc ...
you're doing the same, as well.
Bad things do happen. Whether purposefully or accidentally.
Where is god, when these bad things happen...
see above. It sounds like you have conceived a concept about what a
"god" if existing would and would not do. To you if a god exists, bad
things would not happen?
In this reality we are in, we do not see god.
Have you seen to god today? No.
I haven't seen gravity today but I don't doubt it exists. What about
you?
Nice try, but god is nothing like gravity, or electricity, etc.
I don't believe in the biblical god - that god is hardly the stuff of
which god is expected of. A supreme being.
The god of the bible is nothing like that, but one that is judgemental and
vengeful, etc -- having very human traits.
Did you talk to god today? A lot of religious people would...
But did they get an answer? If they did, they would be able to
get answers to any question then...
Once again you are assuming what a "god" would do. Perhaps in your
concept of what a "god" should be this holds true. But how can you even
have a perception of what a "god" would or would not do if you don't
believe a god can exist? Or do you concede that it is possible that a
god could exist? If not, why not?
We wouldn't even be discussing this, if god was real and a few
people have the proof that god is real.
Once again...what proof do you need? If creation isn't enough for
you...the fact the universe had a beginning. If personal testimony
phases you not...if fulfilled prophecy bores you...what other than God
speaking audibly to you would you expect?
A god, and creation are two different things.
Atheists can believe in science, while others will say that's merely
god at work. The creation can be god, ie. the universe is god concept.
Which kinda makes more sense than anything else.
The god of the bible is a dumb stupid god, who only serves the christians
as something to strike fear into the people.
