Re: Do you believe in God?
This is my question. Do you believe in God, in Jesus, in Heaven and
Hell? I do. This life we live on Earth can not be all there is. We
have to be goin somewhere or else why live at all. What is the purpose
of life if it is not to be judged by God? Our every action has a
consequence or reward. Why did God create us? Simply because he could.
So he would have something to do. He watches every second of the day.
We are probaly entertaining sometimes. So we live our lives through
our actions so that one day God can look at us and say are you
worthy... worthy for enternal life?
Hello,
It is "good" that you believe in God, but so do the demons. Jas 2:19,
"You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe
that--and shudder." (NIV)
Thus more is needed to please God than just believing in Him, such as
you say above "our actions", as well as the quality of our beliefs.
For example, if by your statement above concerning "hell" you mean
'hellfire', did you know that is not a Bible teaching?
Without getting into a lot of Scriptural references disproving it,
just think about what people are accusing God of. They say He tortures
living humans forever in a blazing fire. If you are a parent, have you
tortured your disobedient children with fire? Why not? No doubt
because you would find that sadistic and immoral etc. And if you did,
the authorities would arrest you, would they not? Yet many people
accept God as being such a sadist.
No, God does NOT torture any living thing. Hitler and others like him
may use torture, but NOT our loving God of the Bible. (1 Jo 4:8)
Actually, the Bible tells us the principle that God has never even
conceived the thought of doing such a thing. This principle is stated
for us at Jer 7:31,
"They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben
Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire--something I did
not command, nor did it enter my mind." (NIV)
Yes, the Bible does talk about "hell", but it is not as the churches
teach you. (for instance, Job wanted to go to "hell" to get relief
from his pain, not add to it. See Job 14:13)
And yes, the Bible talks about a "lake of fire" etc, but context shows
that it is not a literal fire, but is symbolic of something. (for
example, notice what is tossed into that alleged literal fire at Re
20:14)
Sincerely, James

Ever think this over? Demons do "claim" to believe in God, but do they
really believe in the one and only true God? If they do, then why are
they called demons?

Don't forget, they are fallen angels, not fallen men. MAN was created
in the image of God; angels are not. Jesus didn't die for them.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. Demons are little
devils related with the Devil alone. They are nothing but figments of
our imagination. They do not really exist just as the Devil does not
really exist. As for fallen angels, they are the fallen men in my
opinion.

There are different types of "beliefs." I believe George Washington
was the first President of the United States. That is NOT the same as
I have faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. There is a
DIFFERENCE between intellectual assent (one type of belief) and
Biblical FAITH.
Rom 4:4-5
4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as
debt.
5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the
ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness
NKJV
The works don't save us, FAITH does. Works don't make us righteous,
FAITH does. BUT works DO FOLLOW. Faith RESULTS IN WORKS.
For example, if by your statement above concerning "hell" you mean
'hellfire', did you know that is not a Bible teaching?

the authorities would arrest you, would they not? Yet many people

Mark 9:42-48
"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to
stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around
his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. 43 If your hand causes you
to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed,
rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall
never be quenched — 44 where
'Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.'
45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for
you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into
hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched — 46 where
'Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.'
47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for
you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two
eyes, to be cast into hell fire — 48 where
'Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.'
NKJV
Matt 5:22
22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a
cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his
brother,'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever
says,'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire
NKJV
Hmm. It seems your rationalizing and calling God a sadist for such
teaching does NOT negate the fact that God DOES INDEED SEND PEOPLE TO
HELL, where it is VERY HOT!
I <snipped> your parroting of jw teachings.

On 18 March 2005, John Couey confessed to killing Jessica Lunsford, a
9-year-old girl who had been missing since 23 February. With confession in
hand, the girl's body was found the next day. Couey had been registered with
Citrus County, Florida as a sex offender. He became a person of interest in
the case when, in the course of interviewing local sex offenders about a
missing girl, Couey could not be found.

Dopey empty minds can't comprehend a God.
Dopey empty minds might wonder about the monkey-human relationship, or
might not wonder about anything ever.
Dopey empty minds might wonder about how mankind created such great
architechture, engineering, music, art, electronics, etc.
But then, dopey empty minds aren't very deep, and these are the minds
that spray windshields and wipe at stoplights, for some coin.
Pity? yes. Sympathy? no
For humanity has expectations of itself, and the swamp that some of
humanity has created is not worthy of focus.

Dopey empty minds end up as theists, as that have can find no explanation
for things other than says "god did it". Then their minds can remain dopey
and empty without any fear of learning or knowledge.
