Or rather, will it, if successful on humans? What if this process can
resuscitate the dead many months or even years after death? Would it
contradict your beliefs in the soul and it's passage into the
afterlife?

Hello,
For those who believe an 'immortal soul' leaves the body at death and
goes on living somewhere else, I guess it would be quite a trip if
that soul supposedly was in Heaven, and then got yanked back to earth
when doctors revived the dead body.
But for those of us who follow the Bible, we know that there is no
such thing as an 'immortal soul'. The Bible tells us the "soul" can
die, thus it is MORTAL. Here is the Bible proof. Eze 18:4,
"Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the
soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." (KJV)
The Bible tells us that dead people are not conscience of anything.
They cease to exist. Here is the Bible proof. Ec 9:5,
"For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is
forgotten." (NIV)
Also Ps 146:3,4,
"3 Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no
salvation. 4 His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very
day his thoughts perish." (NASB)
If they cease to exist, then what is the hope for the dead? It is in a
general resurrection of both the bad and good. Ac 24:15,
"and I have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a
resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." (NIV)
Yes, even the dead wicked right now are not frying in some 'hellfire'
place, but rather are unconscience and not aware of anything, awaiting
the promised resurrection of Ac 24:15. (more on how the BIBLE says
they will be judged if you are interested. It is not according to
popular belief)
Sincerely, James

Whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord.
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body,
and to be present with the Lord.
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I
shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also
Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by
death.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the
flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot
not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and
to be with Christ; which is far better.

If thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter
into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire
that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire
is not quenched.
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter
halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the
fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the
fire is not quenched.
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to
enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be
cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not
quenched. For every one shall be salted with fire.
If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his
forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath
of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his
indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the
smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no
rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever
receiveth the mark of his name.

===================================
.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham
afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father
Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of
his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this
flame.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst
thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is
comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and
you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from
hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from
thence.
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send
him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify
unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham
saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the
dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses
and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from
the dead.
I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of
God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud
voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and
avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto
them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their
fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they
were, should be fulfilled.
