So where is the soul, Duke? Why doesn't the soul prevent these
abuses? How could it, even if it existed? How could a supernatural
soul interact with a physical body?
Now you're getting easy.
The soul is not an organ, but an essence - to prefer right over wrong,
love over
hate, good over bad.
God gave man free will, and that free will allows saying "no" to God,
saying
"no" to that essence preferring good over bad. That's what evil is -
saying no
to good, or yes to plagiarism.
Hey Bud!
Why are you having trouble understanding this?
What he's actually saying here is that there's a fluffy little soul that
lives inside humans, or maybe even sits on their shoulder telling people
not
to be naughty.
A little like Jiminy Cricket in "Pinocchio", except it's invisible.
Cute, isn't it?
Why these people believe this without realising that they have completely
lost their marbles is beyond my understanding, though.
Hey duke!
- "Give a little whistle! - Peep Peep!"
You know what - I think he really *does* see it that way! LoL!
He evidently cannot support a single thing he claims, since he's
avoided like the plague actually addressing the questions and
supporting his responses. He gave only *one* excuse for a "reference"
as his "response to the eight soul questions. It didn't even begin to
address the questions, wasn't objective and offered no support for its
assertions
Like any good little bot, he's programmed, when faced with tough questions,
to fall back blindly on his faith and to shut his mind to any further
thinking.
That's how his particular virus works.
In his case, the Catholic Encyclopedia is there to help him, and any other
bot that gets into trouble.
He simply cannot avoid his own programming, that's all.
To the bot, it doesn't matter if the refuting "evidence" is of any value at
all, as long as it is there.
Now, in this very same thread, he's *already* exaggerated that to
"references" - like he gave more than one!
The reference is enough evidence for him, I think he actually believes that
it *does* refute every one of your questions, so in a sense, he isn't
actually lying, other than to himself.
Remember, rule #1 for the bot is "When in doubt- refer to the bible- the
bible is always right."
He doesn't even grasp that this is why I ignore him, and shall resume
doing so before Thanksgiving comes around. Then he'll have to resort
to his totally transparent lie that I kill-filed him to salve his
battered ego - again!
I don't think he even knows that he's a liar and a coward and a
hypocrite, and mind-numbingly boring. I think he's so deeply buried
up his own ***** that he truly and honestly cannot tell the difference
any more between fact and fiction.
I often suspect that there's something about himself which he is desperately
trying to control or bury.
I see this a lot in fundies, it seems as if they fall back on faith to keep
their minds off whatever it is that is troubling them.
Almost every one of them seems to have some traumatic experience, difficulty
or dirty secret in their past that they want to get away from, as if faith
could help them. (I'm thinking of the likes of Ted Haggard here.)
I sometimes suspect religion is purely for the dysfunctional.
He's truly sad and his fictional god cannot rescue him..
