Yes, and ships are female genders. For example, 'She is a fine ship'.
Obviously, at times symbolism and personification is used to express
ideas. The Bible also does that a lot.
For instance, your example of God's "face" above. Since God has a
"spirit" body instead of a physical body, then He is much different
than us. (Joh 4:24) In the Bible, angels materialized human-looking
angelic bodies so that they could relate to humans. (they could have
just as easily materialized pig bodies etc) But just what they look
like after they shed that human-like body and went back to their
spirit body, the Bible does not say. It just calls them "spirits".
Spirit beings can float in the air and pass through walls, stand in
hot fires without getting hurt, etc, so they are much different than
we are. Thus, when Jesus referred to God's "face" at Mt 18:10 above,
he meant that those angels were in God's actual presence, not that He
has a face like ours.
